I would hope they would be happy about seeing it finished - but not to the point where they would want it back!! I do love old quilts and this one, because of the fabrics, was fun to finish. Now I need to decide whats up next...should I start a new project or finish one thats been sitting around for a year or two?!? Haha...the ultimate quilters dilemma! Happy Quilting! xo, Nan

My favorite part of the quilting process is pulling the freshly washed and dried quilt from the dryer! And then using it! Oh, I also love deciding what to make - hours of scrolling Pinterest and looking at quilt magazines and books and then finally picking something! I detest piecing, and pinning the quilt sandwich is such a chore that I find no joy in that, and I only machine quilt myself so I can get it done faster! I wish I loved all of it but really, I just love the finished product!!

Hi Barbara Anne - Thanks for your sweet comment! Hope youre not buried in snow again, the East coast has been hit so hard this year - but then again, snow days = sew days! You can find the sewing machine cleaners at a lot of places online, including Amazon, Collecting Threads and Fat Quarter Shop. Google sewing machine cleaning brushes - theyre available at a lot of places and they work great!!! Happy quilting! xo, Nan

Hi! Thanks for checking in and Happy New Year to you!!! I love the May all your quilts be beautiful... now to find the time to actually finish something!!! I am back to sewing though, working on a very basic quilt just to ease myself back into my other words, I want to be able to finish something in a reasonable amount of time without getting frustrated and walking away!! xoxo, Nan
Its so funny how Autism works, one minute I think Max is perfectly normal and then the next, like you said, we are brought up short. We could not love him more, he is the best part of my life and he has taught me and all of us so much. I know you know what I mean - its humbling in many ways. I definitely had a moment where I was thinking all was good and everything would be fine - he had been surrounded by thousands of people all day, but the thought of 30 people in our home was just too much. Yes, maybe next year, its always a wait and see kind of thing and thats okay! Thanks for your comment - I so love hearing from other people who are touched by Autism - and your reminder to stop, look and listen was a good one! xo, Nan

Hi Sharon! Thanks so much for your comment! I know just what you mean about baking with your granddaughter! Elsa and I baked several times over the Christmas break and I enjoyed everything way too much! I would just break off one small piece of something, thinking that would suffice...nope! Pretty soon I would have eaten the entire thing and then gone back to break off another small piece! This past week has been just as bad because I was not quite done with my Christmas cooking and January 6th Ill be back on the wagon! for sure! Happy New Year!
Hi Pam - I’m so glad it worked out so well! Yes, the blocks will be sticky but don’t wash them yet - just sew them together and quilt and bind your quilt as usual then wash the quilt in cold water and put in a hot dryer. It will be soft and perfect! Congrats to the newlyweds! Sent from my iPhone

Hi Jessica - Thanks for your nice comment, we are 100% used to it now and we do love it! Although, the other night when the wind was whipping around and the trees were swaying, I mentioned to the mister that if a tree hit the house I hoped it would take out the new window so we could redo it with MORE glass like we had before and he agreed! Wind storms arent a joke in the Northwest so we quickly came to our senses, grabbed the lanterns as the lights were flickering and discussed the window for the umpteenth time.So maybe I should say we are 90% used to our new window! Happy New Year! Nan
