Angelina Jolie, actress and wife to Brad Pitt, has been receiving criticism over her feature directorial debut she had been filming in Bosnia. A group has been pressuring officials to pull her filming permit. Rumors have surfaced that the film portrays a relationship between a rapist and one of his victims. This instantly sparked protests. Angelina Jolie was called “ignorant” by the Women Victims of War, a group of women who had been victims of sexual violence during the Bosnian War of the 90’s. Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has been all over the news lately. In his latest interview he made a statement that has perk up many ears from the American public. The Governor wants members of Congress to stay home more often. He feels by giving them term limits, making them part-time, and not allowing them to become lobbyist would generate more common sense from Washington D.C. The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization that gives aid and comfort to victims of disasters. According to their website, volunteers at the American Red Cross respond to more than 66,000 disasters each year. Congress formally gave authority in 1900 for the organization to provide relief to disaster victims and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. Continue reading
