Hi Shari, I do understand completely and did not take your comment in a negative way at all. I think the church can and should do a better job welcoming and supporting childless people, and I appreciate you pointing that out. Churches inadvertently send messages that exclude people whose life journeys don't fit the nuclear family model and it makes me sad. I don't want to contribute to anyone's feeling of loneliness...but I can only speak to my own experience and try to encourage others who might find some wisdom in it, even if their stories are different.
