I agree with you. I have a friend who apparently has been voluntarily indoctrinated by Neal Boortz, who is supposedly very popular in Atlanta on AM radio. She's all for government action of LGBT rights, but not on heath care. In my brief conversations with her about health care, it became quickly apparent that she doesn't have much understanding of the issues. She thinks it is the status quo versus government control. Mind you, government control is fine when it comes to protecting LGBT rights, just not health care. I am a social libertarian, but when it comes to the economy, I realize the pragmatic approach to a mixed market system seems to work the best...and universal health care is as much an economic issue as it is a moral one. Keep up the fight.

What a tough situation. I have no clue as to what I would do in such a case. I do know that many educational institutions do discriminate against women and parents. Not sure what the answer is, but I like Rob's approach for starters. BTW, best of luck on your job in China. I know you will blog the journey with lots of insight and photos.

I can smell the lilacs. Well...I actually can smell the honeysuckle growing in my neighbor's yard. It is in full bloom, and the bees love it.
