@Will - Actually yeah - it happened in both places... showed up in the SWF file itself. I tried on two different PC's - one AV scanner picked it up (and auto-fixed it) but the other one didn't hiccup... very weird. And if successful it could be VERY impactful (and news to most of us!)

Update: there seems to be something in the embedded video that tripped a lot of malware/virus/something bad's happening scanners, so I've removed the embed. If you still want to see it, you can watch this lovely satire at YouTube. (via reddit)

Seems the SWF file is throwing me an Anti-Virus message:
The Actns/Swif.T was detected in [temp location file]\L[1].SWF.
Thought you'd want to know... VERY funny video tho.

I have to say that I've heard this argument a lot lately... "the mass populous" doesn't support him, agree with him, like him, or trust him.
Yet, the mass populous voted for him in 2004.
So does that mean that he's gotten worse between 2004 and now? I doubt it - all of the complaints being voiced started before the election. Maybe it's the "mass populous polled for approval ratings" or the "selected subsection that the poll takers focused on" versus the "generic mass populous". Like if you want a poll with a pro-Gay result would you poll Greenwich Village, NYC or Odessa, TX? Same poll, two very different results, especially if you only ask 1000 people from each area. Polls are easy to sway in EITHER direction - the media goes with what is sensational...
Or maybe the Democrats need to offer a candidate that does more than say "vote for me because I'm not that guy".
Either way, sweeping statements are always going to piss off someone - I say speak your mind and tell the complaining people to wank off. I was watching some "welcome" speech of a new Democrat - couldn't even GIVE his speech because some anti-Iraqi war ppl were shouting him down... incredible considering the Democrats ARE anti-Iraqi war by definition...
Honestly, Wil - it's yer blog, speak your mind and call it good. Don't apologize for that :)
regarding majorities
When I signed my post yesterday "Wil (and the vast majority of Americans)" I wasn't attempting to be pompous or presumptive, as some readers have inferred; rather, I was referring to overwhelming polling data which puts Bush's approval ratings in the low to mid 30s for all of 2006. In fact, he h...

I can attest to Ecto being one of the best editors out there for MT, especially on OSX.
In fact, it's because of Ecto that I wrote SharpMT for MT, TypePad and Wordpress blogs: when I Switched Back from a PowerBookto a PC, I found I missed Ecto - a lot - since it was Mac only at the time.
I don't know if you've seen SharpMT, of if you'd want to: it's not WYSIWIG, since I like seeing the HTML tags while writing, but it is geared for MT/TypePad engines.
If you want more info on it, plz ping me directly :)
state of the exile
The day I got the WWdN database fixed, and had all the old WWdN entries rescued and readable was the day I found the path out of Exile. Now that I know there are two ways out of this prison (in a pine box, or through that large opening over there that we all like to think of as "off limits, as a...

Funny thing that he realizes this after reading Dave Winer... that man has got an ego the size of the two Dakotas, when it comes to "geek-related" items... JM2C of course... I just find it ironic.
on the rise of trollblogs
I don't know Robert Scoble at all, other than meeting him and drooling over his tablet PC at Gnomedex a couple of years ago, but I read his blog pretty faithfully, even though he works for the Borg. He's a smart, insightful guy, and I read him for the same reason I read Seth Godin and Bruce Schn...
