Hi Leila, The picture's not quite the right angle to get my house, but if you think the water level looks low in the picture you should see it in reality. By this time of the year the lake is usually on the rise, but with little snow pack...who knows. Good to hear you're doing well.

Yesterday I attended a CA Democratic Party regional meeting in Stockton. In attendance were representatives of many of the CDP Region 7 county committees. When the subject of fundraising came up I took to the floor and explained to the group what ActBlue had done in setting up accounts for county committees in CA. Most did not know and they soaked up the information like a sponge. I expect they will all begin using ActBlue soon. Two things of particular interest were the event management capabilities and the ability to donate using a credit card. FYI I am raising funds in two places, here and here.

You gotta love the flap over head scarfs. Is this the best they can come up with? You should have heard indignation of the woman caller on Limbaugh (don't worry, I heard it re-played on Air America) about Pelosi's burka. Laugh, what else can you do. Head on over to California Notes to see the side-by-side of Pelosi and Laura Bush in their burkas.

Merry Christmas, Leila. I am so fortunate to have met your dad. Thank you for sharing his life.

Does it really matter what instrument you use to swear an oath? Using the Bible doesn't seem to stop corruption in government. Maybe trying something else will help. Better yet, lets just keep our oaths.
I have to agree with Judy. This blog is disappointing and not worth a daily read. I would also recommend MyDD and Calitics, but she did leave out one blog that should be checked regularly - California Notes.
