PJ Nunn Name recognition. That’s what it’s really all about when you get right down to it. But when you ask a lot of authors what book promotion is about, many will answer “selling books.” Ok. That’s a fair answer,... Continue reading
So sad. And so scary that it could have, and often has, happened anywhere.

Well said, Kris! I'm still mourning The Mystery Bookstore in Dallas that closed years ago and hasn't effectively been replaced.

Nothing like a good book, is there? Roy, I'd be interested in seeing your work! I'll have to look it up.

Good idea, Jack. It's a hard way to learn, I'd love to help someone avoid it.

What? Moi? You're the perfect author I'm sure. I could never say your name in the same sentence with the word "mistake"!

Jack, you'd probably win my least high maintenance client award if I had one =) Shaz, oh the stories I could tell, but daren't. But I imagine all of my blog mates could say the same. Maybe we should plan a "tell a thon" at Bouchercon!

I like 4A best and 4b second. Couldn't get my post up on Libby's blog for some reason.

Yeesh! I'm glad I'm not the only one who comes across these now and again, but it's so sad. Thanks, Robin, for being one of the "good guys"!

Nice to see you here Alan!

See? Jack knows how to do things right and it works! But I didn't know you had another PR lady.... And Shaz, I suddenly heard a burst of Beach Boys singing "Wouldn't it be nice...?"

Good points all! Particularly Chester. I so hate it when I get calls from irate radio hosts who were left with dead air, especially when I contact the author to find out what happened and rather than something catastrophic (which I'd never wish on anyone) or even unavoidable (which is understandable), I hear something like "Oops! Forgot to write it down!" I've actually lost a few programs over the years where the host refused to schedule anyone else I sent after the dead air incident. Not good.

I really thought she'd beat it this time, too. When I got the news, I couldn't find words and still feel that way. She'll be sorely missed!

So is there a letter to the editor in the works? Can you do something to up Aunt Agatha's profile in the world of snobs? Or maybe you don't really want to play that...

I think it's the best so far, not that the others aren't great too. I haven't gotten quite to the end due to incessant interruptions but I've already marked several memorable lines. What can I say - I love your work!

I KNOW. I don't get so many comments. Probably stunned into silence and feeling my pain. And by the way, I saw Sadie took 2nd in the Terrier Group at Eukanuba - she's looking great as always! Any time she has a spare pup, there's a home for it here with me =)
