I want the world to know that, when I really stop and think about it, my frustrations with inequality, people doing horrible things in the name of "religion", and all of the -isms make me want to smash something. I want the world to know that I want my children to grow up to know they can do anything, marry anyone, and be treated respectfully - as long as they are nice to others and try their best (at least, that's what I tell them). I just read The Help which I couldn't put down and made me both hopeful (of how far we've come) and despairing (of how we haven't made any strides) simultaneously.
