Wow, hearing your voice takes me back to the night we read poems at the kitchen table. Thank you for this. I so needed to hear this tonight. Thank you.
absolutely beautiful poem and image to go with it. I was just chatting last week with my friend Charlie. She had her camera stolen in Italy a long time ago.....all those images....never to be seen by her.

beautiful. Leonard Cohen is brilliant! Thanks for posting more Leonard!!!!
beautiful photo! Never think about looking up! I'm always looking down. I like the idea of a new perspective....can be applied to so many things in life. You should definitely look up my sister and my mom. They both live in Madison. Karen painted one of the Cows on Parade for Madison a few years ago. I'll have to find out where his permanent home is.

Such a beautiful video. Do you know that feeling when you just relax and float on top of the water? That is what I thought of when I read this poem. It is so relaxing....just letting the weight of your body be supported by the water.

"until noise has drained from the world like blood from the cheeks of the full moon." that line just grabbed me. This poem makes me think of so many when Rex is at the firehouse overnight...or when he worked the night shift at the hospital....or when I'm the only one awake in the house until the wee hours of the morning.....incredible poem. I'll have to look up the author!

That is so cool that your friend was featured. Something about this poem reminds me of the small Georgia town I lived in for awhile. Thank you for sharing.
oh, and what a surprise to see this photo of me.....

What a great story Misty! And....I love the Innocence Mission....the sound and the lyrics! I have a CD around here somewhere. The poem and your story reminds me of my youth as well.....a time before kids and the responsibilities that come....when you just drive until you feel like stopping...
