I was wrong. The electors did the right thing and I commend them for their intelligence. Posted by: orange 'n green in the vein | January 17, 2021 at 12:15 PM Yeah, one of the few times that we didn't get screwed for being "The U." Dan Morgan is as deserving as ANY player in the NCAA to be a Hall of Famer! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

Awesome blog! Morgan was indeed a BEAST. A very LARGE human being. Met him in the lobby of the Sugar Bowl, (whatever year that was... ), and he was very gracious and friendly. He even let my then, "high school" daughter, videotape him for a welcome message to air on our High School news show. Too bad about all of the concussions he went through in the pros. Seems to be doing pretty well with The Bills now though! Good for him! Yes, we need to recruit MANY MORE players like Dan Morgan, for sure! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

So nothing here about Borregales winning the Groza award or Dan Morgan into the CF HOF? Posted by: KYcane | January 11, 2021 at 02:43 PM Yeah... That should probably be a new blog!

Yeah VA Cane... Trying to work with EVERY individual athlete, and getting them to give their best effort is how it's done. (Some days are harder than others.) The biggest problem I run into is I tend to spend most of my time working with the struggling members of my teams, (at the expense of the top players.) It's a constant balancing act. Glad to hear Harley is back... maybe he'll follow DeVonta Smith's lead, and catch a few million balls off of the jugs machine! (And win a Heisman in the process!)๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

you coach them all....and we are not coaching anybody in my book. That's where it starts...the adult coach developing the young men....it works if ya work it!!!! Posted by: VA Cane | January 10, 2021 at 08:35 AM Yup, yup, yup! ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ’ฏ

I saw where the WR Heisman Trophy winner from Bama would stay after practice EVERYDAY to catch an extra 100 passes to perfect his craft. Tell me how many UM WRs are doing that? Posted by: 58 Straight | January 06, 2021 at 06:22 PM I saw that piece twice, (on two different shows.) DeVonta Smith is QUITE a fine young man ON and OFF the field. Well deserving of the Heisman. You mean you don't think all of the U receivers are doing that already SOUP? Why would you think that? (Passes are NEVER dropped by U receivers.) ๐Ÿคฎ

That side of the ball that had been a strength is now becoming a weakness. The slate needs to be wiped clean on that side. We need dogged recruiters, period. That is all. Posted by: HerbieIbis | January 02, 2021 at 10:20 PM "We need dogged recruiters, period." Yup, yup, yup. For instance, that freshman RB from TX A&M last night, Devon Achane, also happens to be the HS Texas State 200 Meter Champion... We need COACHES-WHO-CAN-COACH, and ELITE, HUNGRY ATHLETES for them to work with.

Yup... NO Chuba: Hubbard has been battling an ankle injury for much of the season. He missed the last three games and only had 14 carries for the entire month of November. โ€œAs I rebound from this injury, I have decided to begin my preparations for the 2021 NFL Draft,โ€ Hubbard said in his statement. โ€œThank you Oklahoma State for helping turn my childhood dream into a reality. The journey continues!โ€

The QB is erratic sometimes but that only means, he'll be superstar against us, as we have a habit of bring out the best in QB'S who are average or green. Itโ€™s official. Miami is headed back to Orlando to play in the Cheez-It Bowl, formerly known as the Citrus Bowl, Champs Sports Bowl and Russell Athletic Bowl, to play Oklahoma State (7-3) on December 29th at 5:30 p.m. ESPN.

But it seems like those days are becoming a thing of the past with today's players. Posted by: 86Cane | December 19, 2020 at 11:02 AM Yeah... only need to look at Ohio State's running back Sermon... (Oklahoma transfer.) The game as we remember it is gone. Players moving from team-to-team regardless of rivalries... not having to sit out a year most times... This is now the NFL minor leagues with players offering themselves up as free agents... OR just opting out at ANY POINT in the season and declaring for the draft... No matter HOW much The U has benefitted from the portal, (D'King, Phillips... ) it's STILL weird to me. (High School football is also going the same route... transferring schools for a sport is pretty much the norm now, where it was once against the rules and taboo.) On a completely DIFFERENT note... The U needs some changes in coaching... PRONTO!๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ
