I didn't see this Smackdown! when it was first posted so I am glad that it was brought back for the 10th anniversary of the South Park film. It is a good comparison and you make solid points for/against both films. Roll Tide, Roll. I enjoyed reading this Smackdown -- it is concise and spot on. The comparison is much like a gridiron match between the Crimson Tide and the Scarlet Knights. Fellini's AMARCORD. It really instilled in me the idea that significant events can pass by without one ever having the chance to participate, regardless of the amount of preparation and/or desire . (There are other films that had an impact as well, but this is the one that jumps out today.)

As I promised on the 29th of December, I went out and rented THE APARTMENT. I'm glad I did. As you so succintly point out, "Women have waded out of the secretarial pool, and elevator operators have gone the way of organ grinders, but office politics remain murky moral morasses and the satire still stings." Amen.
