Six-Five, Two-Thirtyish, Right-Handed Pitcher: Yanks-Sox Gamer
That's most of what the trio of Josh, Phil and AJ have in common. Beckett is having one of the best seasons of his career. Hughes is... well, he's.. um... let's just say he's glad Burnett makes so much money that he takes the brunt of the wrath directed towards the Yankees starters. Outside o...
Starting to like this Cameron fella.
Back Home: Mariners-Sox Gamer I
After a long road trip the Sox return to Fenway to play the Mariners and face another southpaw. Carl and JD sit, the red hot Jacoby Ellsbury (line drives, baby!) plays as he looks more and more comfy in the lead-off spot - nice to see that he reads our blog and listens intently to our armchair ba...
Um, back to the Sox game... My son and I played hooky to go to the game. Salty signed my son's hat, We met Daniel Bard - and then watched him clear up that mess in the 6th. Except for the black hole at the bottom of the order, the boys looked good.
West Coasting: Sox-A's Gamer II
The Sox finish up in Oakland this afternoon, for good. Unless they see the A's in the playoffs. In 2012, of course.* Chat about the action here. * we kid, I think.
Not quite as colorful as when Krueg is doing the one man commentary...

Matt Harrison has a been dazzling in his first two starts of the season for the Rangers. He's on the mound tonight at Yankee Stadium, while Ivan Nova hopes to bounce back from a dissapointing performance against Boston his last time out. Comment away. Rangers Kinsler, I, 2B .209 Andrus, E, S...

Those Plucky Underdogs from Boston: Sox-Rangers Gamer I
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you can throw out all those predictions now — the unanimity of the projection systems; the consensus of the experts from ESPN, CBS, Sports Illustrated and Fox; even the consensus of the online statistical community — because the season has begun, and the Red Sox are in second p...

Ok, not a football fan here but watched the Steelers/jets game with my ten year old because he wanted to. And it gave me the chance to explain running down the clock and why baseball is the superior game. So not a complete loss of a few hours.
Who YOU Got?
The NFL action on Sunday is probably as sweet as could be expected for the football sports fans who don't have a horse in the race. And even better for those who do. There are no losers for any football fan in any of these match-ups. In the AFC, the Jets face The Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz, w...
Cripes I am so bored of this off season. Plus who doesn't like a laugh at the expense of the Yankees - I would pay money right around now to see a big splashy headline about Pavano signing a long deal with NY. It would perk up a looooong gray January.
For The 200th Time
For those of you that have been counting: "Joba is a bullpen guy, for the 200th time." --Brian Cashman, via @PeterBotte It gets better. Wait, why did I write 'better'? I meant worse. Botte also tweeted: Cashman admitted he had "several discussions" with agent for Pavano. Well, at least I do...
Looks like Crawford to the sox instead...
The Yankees Dangle The Semi-Constant Gardner
Read Feinsand/Madden's article about Cashman wining and dining Crawford. Feinsand: Should the Yankees miss out on Lee, they could sign Crawford and trade one of their outfielders - Brett Gardner, considered to be a less expensive version of Crawford - for a starting pitcher. I like Brett Gardner...

Did Braden get hurt too? Or did he get ejected for hitting Jeter? Watching on GameDay in a meeting....
Rotation in Flux
So Javy's return to the starting rotation this Saturday seems to indicate two things: First, Javy has pitched well enough in his long-relief role to earn another look in the starting rotation. Second, AJ Burnett is on notice. There is a point at which even a $16.5 salary for 2010 does not bu...

Leyland In Town: Tigers-Yanks Gamer
Jim Leyland is f*cking cool. I don't know how or why, but that's how and why I will never be. Max Scherzer and Javier Vazquez are pitching tonight. Comment away.
Of course, AG's always been a fan favorite so nobody is complaining....

Hell, if he keeps this up, I might want to marry him.
Something Of Notice: Sox-Jays Gamer
Clay Buchholz has been rather remarkable in this season, and has put together three fantastic starts against the Angels, Tigers, and Yankees. He faces Toronto led by Shaun Marcum at Rogers Centre. Comment away.
my wife might just very well decide she wants to marry Bill Hall instead of Mike Lowell.

Lackey hit an ump with a pickoff throw. Cripes.
Rays-Sox Gamer
"I never liked that guy, but I loved watching him play." -- Matt Garza on Pete Rose while comparing Charlie Hustle to Dustin Pedroia. An apt aphorism for this Yankee fan. The papernets say DP's foot won't require surgery. Not to say that a broken foot isn't bad. I hope Dustin gets back soon ...
