Oh, I'm way behind on my blog reading. Now I think of you every time I put those mittens on. I'm in love with them. I'm trying to make sure I don't lose (one of) them without getting too neurotic about it. Thank you for this blog. Even when you're going through one of the worst experiences of your life your writing is still so life-affirming. So are your mittens.

Sigrid, I always thought I would write poetry, but my brain is too prosaic. This entry is so beautifully written--the way you live and think and write is poetry, and that was true of David, as well. Thank you for sharing this. I went to a handmade fair the other day and thought of you--there was so much beautiful needlework there. I told my friend it didn't make me want to buy stuff, it made me wanna make stuff. I did, however, buy some mittens repurposed from a felted wool fair isle sweater and lined with fleece. They look like something you would knit. I think that's why they caught my eye, because I've been thinking of you and David so much these past few weeks. The mittens make me feel so warm and homey, and I kind of need that. Don't we all?
