Yes, I witnessed this just a few weeks ago. I had not felt well for a few weeks and our house looked terrible. When I felt better, I started cleaning and organizing. Afterwards, I felt so much better mentally and physically. Which I think is "finding joy."

Val, thank you for this. It really is relevant to those of us who are "in our golden years." It is good to know that we are only in the shadow of what is in store for those who believe.

Thanks, Val. I needed that.I know we all try to take matters into our own hands, when all we have to do is rely on God. He will show you what you need to do, if you just take time to listen and heed.

Very sweet and loving tribute to Dave's parents. I will be praying for Miss Mary and the family.

That is so funny. Did you see the episode of "The Big Bang Theory" when the tongue-tied guy said "Siwi, find the closet Westaurant." Siri says, "I don't recognize 'Westaurant.'" It was so funny. She does need to be a little more Southern.

I really enjoyed reading this one. We all need to be confident in our faith. Who knows when we will be tested. "Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes." Eph. 6:11

I don't think anybody could cook creamed corn like my mother. I keep trying, but it just doesn't have her touch. Also, when the pastor of our church was coming to dinner, along with the visiting pastor (for revival week)she cooked and cooked. The kids were to wait until everyone else had eaten. (How unlike today.) But everything in the house had to be spotless and we were not to mess up anything. (Sorry to ramble on, but it just came out.) See you this weekend.

That is a great picture. It makes me want Spring to hurry in. I love Spring. (Didn't know Juniors "dead" tree could bloom like that. LOL
I do think that you "hit the nail on the head" (not quoting Wadsworth). There are moments that you just wish could last forever.
She certainly knew "whom she believed,' and was an inspiration to all of us. I had known Joyce all my life. But we became very close in the last five years or so of her life. I will miss her always.

That was really cute and sweet story. Can't wait to see "the wall."
That was very inspiring. Yes, as you get older, you can look back and see all the mountains you have climbed without even thinking about it. But you can also see the One who was with you all along. "Without Him we would be nothing." (Of course, that was in an Elvis song.)
What a sweet story. And the older some of get the more we start "reading our title clear."

Aunt Mac was certainly a character. Funny, lovable, and interesting.
But the most fun of all was all the talking going on among the three of us. We have such a great time. ( I believe someone else has been taking pictures. Don't try to take my job.) My pepper sauce is still sitting out on the counter, just like Nannette told us to do.

Yes, I remember "the lake" very well. Mostly the skating rink. We went all the time. I had my own skate case(well, it was a hand-me-down from my sister Sherry. It was red, white, and blue. I was so proud of it. I could skate pretty good. I was one of those giggling teens.

Yes, my family and I would do the same thing. Get the little cabin with the little fans (or was it AC) in the windows. Then we would all get sunburned and have to stay in because we were sick. But we loved the time together.

It's so funny how you do not type what you want to say. I meant to say "then, "bang" you go for it.
That's so funny. Hey, Richard says I am a cheerleader for hystorectomies. So save your money. Or just wait for the time to be up and then "bang" you so for it.
Now aren't they just the cutest couple. I remember going to their wedding. It was very sweet.
