An update: Many costumes sites are now expecting their first licensed Avatar costumes to arrive in July 2010. More pictures are now available, and some costumes do have tails. @-@
Hi Spirit. If you make some bracelets, post a picture so we can see them.

If you make a costume, I'd love to hear how it goes. If you have additional ideas, tell people about them in the comments - I think people will be interested in everyone's ideas for how to do things, or different ways of getting an effect.

Well, after IMAX 3D and 2D Blu-ray and DVD, IMAX rules. It is gorgeous in any format. But getting to stop the movie and watch scenes for as long as I want is a real plus for the home release.... Continue reading

I have written directions for making some of Neytiri's bracelets. They are not hard to make. They should be posted in the community sometime in the next week or so, I think. Eywa ngahu @_@ Continue reading

Kaltxi! @Spirit: I think schools would be surprised at all the people who wanted to learn the language if they offered classes! @Safire: I have trouble pronouncing the words correctly too! Since the DVD is out today!, I am hoping that listening to the dialog as often as I want will help me with pronunciation. The learnnavi.org site has the most resources I have seen on how to pronounce Na'vi. They have links to all the places people have found where there are sound clips of spoken Na'vi. This page is a good start: http://wiki.learnnavi.org/index.php/Pronunciation_Guidance Eywa ngahu
Oh, and I did return my IMAX 3D glasses to the theater- the usher kept telling me I wouldn't be able to use them anywhere else. @_@
The iZ3D H220Z1 monitor is a good choice for a first 3D monitor. A 22" monitor, it comes with a couple pairs of passive 3D glasses included, and I've seen it for as low as $300 online. User reviews on it are pretty favorable too. I'll be interested to hear how your version of a 3D projection theater works out.
It's spring, so there is pollen everywhere. (Achooo) Last night it rained, and the pollen count for the day is half as high as yesterday :D But it made me think about the plant life on Pandora - unless they have entirely different reproduction methods - the pollen count there... Continue reading

Avatar blew me away. It fascinates me on several levels. The movie, especially in IMAX, is gorgeous. The Na'vi people are larger than life - mythic - and their principles are worth emulating. They inspire me creatively to make costumes and artifacts that fit with Avatar. And I suddenly want... Continue reading
