The first one literally made me bust out laughing. The poor old guy just looks so sad. I actually don't think the Monsters one sounds all that bad (for an older child, like you said). I mean, if we can read Hansel and Gretel to our kids (the witch tries to BAKE them, for God's sake!), then how bad could this one be? It's practically the same premise. Oh, and I hadn't heard about Go the Fuck to Sleep, so I'll tell Katie you said hi.
I can still take Lil' Bit to the supermarket, but now my husband has to come along for reinforcements, whereas it used to just be me and her. You know, before she was mobile. I'd stroll around the store with her sitting happily in the cart smiling up at me. It was actually pretty blissful. She made grocery shopping fun and gave me a legitimate excuse to talk to myself as I browsed the aisles (something I do anyway, but at least I don't look crazy when I've got her with me). Now? She still loves to go to the store, but she only lasts in the cart for a few minutes. Then she wants to get down and exert her independence. So, now going grocery shopping is a family affair - I shop while Hubs entertains her. It sounds weird, but it works!

First rule of Fight Club: DO NOT TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB! BTW, was that a band-aid on her forehead? Had she already gotten into a previous brawl? Your baby's a badass.

I'm laughing so hard that "something incredible planned by husband" is listed on the vortex as both "Fantasy-Based" AND "Think Big."

It's fitting that I should read this post directly after reading Theta Mom's on blog envy. Because I has it right now. This is some stellar, creative, hilarious writing right here. P.S. I can't get over that nursery. It's gorgeous. So why do I feel a sense of gleeful giddiness at the thought of it covered in poop and spit up?

My husband idolizes Stephen Tobolowsky, who played Ned Ryerson in Groundhog Day. He did the whistling belly button in the school talent show (Ned Ryerson, not my husband). Men are weird.

Oh, how this post made me laugh. I can't believe your husband's groomsmen walked down the aisle to the theme from The Godfather. LOL!

That comic strip is so funny and the photos so very random. I mean, the one with the ball? LOL. How did you manage to go to the zoo and not get any pictures of, well, you know... the zoo!? And I do the same thing with pictures. I'm all, "Oh, I must capture this forever!" as if my child will never again experience the wonder and amazement of the world from her tiny person perspective. But each time it happens, it brings me that same sense of giddy joy. And yeah, I've been known to try to re-create moments before. It never happens.
I love this post. Simply love it.

Between Parenting Extra's Beavis & Butthead reference and Carrie's Joe Pesci reference, I'm not even gonna attempt it. All I've got is a vague Look Who's Talking reference: "Help, help! Somebody burp me before I blow up!"

Not here on a bloghop, but I figured this was as good a time as any to say hello. I've been checking in here off an on for a while now and just subscribed by e-mail. Your posts always make me laugh.
