365 day project invitation I’ve read on chase Jarvis blogs at www.chasejarvis.com of a young 17 year old photographer who’ve taken on a 365 days project. The project is to take one picture per day for the next 365 days. The hard part of the project is actually completing it. This has sparked some inspiration in me to take on my own 365 days project. I think that this will be a nice way for me to photo document things that my eyes will see for the next 365 days. I’m hoping that I can complete this project. If any... Continue reading

I have neglected making a blog post for some time now. Life got in the way I guess. I feel like a crumbling building with no define shape. Struggling with my weight as well, can't seem to keep the pounds down. So I joined my friend's volleyball rec league team and had our first game last monday. It was a lot of fun and we won as well. Our next game is tomorrow, looking forward to it. Hopefully we win again :) Continue reading

Merry Christmas everyone, I hope you’ve all gotten what you wanted for Christmas. I sure have. When I was a just a little boy, I loved Christmas and what I loved most about Christmas is receiving presents and gifts. At the time my parents were new to this country - Canada. We didn’t have much growing up. Money was always tight. But nevertheless I know that for Christmas I can be sure to get an awesome gift from them. One Christmas I got a Nintendo. I remember sitting in front of the tv with my cousin, eyes glued to the... Continue reading

I shot this image from my room at about midnight. Here I'm trying to show the darkness and loneliness that winter brings, but at the same time one finds peace and silence. It’s been a long summer for me and for this reason I’m glad that winter has arrived. Most people I talk to hate the winter. They hate freezing cold temperature, the slippery road and having to spend time putting on layers and layers of clothes just to go outside to check the mail or to drag out garbage on collection day. I too was one of them- winter... Continue reading

Fort Launderdale, Florida 2010 Just the past month I was privileged with an opportunity to go to Fort Launderdale, Florida to translate for the Chief Apostle Pentecost service that was being broadcast from South Africa. This weekend would have to be one of those weekends where you look back one day and if you would ever need to recall a good weekend, this would be it. I guess it's hard to have a bad weekend when you live in florida - the beach is only a few minutes away. The weekend started off with me rushing to the airport after... Continue reading

Just the past Saturday I went golfing with two of my friends. This will be my second time golfing ever in my entire life. I have to admit golf is a hard game to learn. Real golf is not as easy as the golf you play on the Nintendo wii nor is it as easy as how the pros make it look on tv. They too even sometimes struggle. I ended up losing 6 golf balls from the 9 holes of golf we played. I lost some to the forest of golf ball heaven and some into the water. At... Continue reading

Kildonan park - summer 2010 I was at the park last week with my friends and family. The weather was nice, the sun was perfect and the park was pack of people, doing things that people do in the park. There were those walking their dogs, jogging, kids running around, people laughing, people playing soccer and football. Many were also cooking some sort of meat on the barbecue. You can smell the bbq as you drive into the park – makes your mouth water. As I got out of my car and walked towards the spot where the rest of... Continue reading

Toyota Corolla - 2005 I went fishing a week ago. We took my sister’s car (above) a Toyota 2005 corolla. A few day before our fishing trip, her car was sitting dead in the drive way. I’ve been working on it for her, trying to get it running again. Spent a few days and can’t seem to figure out what was wrong, I tried all the tricks I know in order to get it to start. But it wouldn’t start, and I am not surprised, because I know very little tricks when it comes to car. It turned out later... Continue reading

Tiger photo - courtesy of NATGEO and AngkorWat photo - courtesy of unknown. Cambodian New Year is a three day celebration that takes place from April 13 - to april 15 in Cambodia. Depending on where you live in the world, you may not be able to celebrate it exactly on those dates or even for the whole three days. But regardless of when in April you celebrate it, it is still a nice event to be a part of. Happy Cambodian New Year Everyone! Continue reading

Crossing a very high cable swinging bridge Risk, what is it? Can we really define it? It’s everywhere. Every day of our life we take a risk, when we choose one path over another we are giving up on the opportunity that the path not chosen may have lead us to. Sometimes I sit and wonder could things have been better if I choose a different path in life, would I have been more successful financial or maybe I would be more content with my life. We all take risks in life. Do you ever ask yourself, am I risking... Continue reading

Bobcat soldiers My pick for the “Car of the Week” is the bobcat. According to National Geographic “the bob cats are fierce hunter and can kill prey larger than themselves. The Bobcat hunts by stealth, but delivers a deathblow with a leaping pounce that can cover ten feet.” The bobcats in my town are not made of flesh and bone, but instead of a steel metal frame, a big scoop and rubber tires. They don’t pounce, but causes damage by driving into its target. These bobcats can be found at construction sites helping to level soils/clay and in parking lots... Continue reading

“It was a dark and stormy night…” Not! It’s dark outside alright, but definitely not stormy, it’s Winnipeg and we normally do not get rainy or stormy night at this time of the year. The only storm that we get at this time is a blizzard or snow storm. But no we didn’t have none of that either. It’s pretty nice out. The temperature is about -10 degree Celsius. The wind is calm and no signs of snow. This is perfect weather for shooting photos. A friend of mine had a great idea of getting a bunch of us out... Continue reading

Everywhere you go you can count on spotting a car that catches your eyes and as you stand there with your jaw dropped in admiration of that beautiful piece of metal, drooling sometimes happen. There are a lot of interesting and beautiful cars out there. As a way of paying homage to the car gods for blessing us so kindly, I will post one car that I capture with my camera on a weekly basis. I will call this “Samol’s car of the week”. Audi RS4 Continue reading

The past weekend I’ve travelled to Saskatoon to attend a friend’s wedding. We left Saturday morning at around 7:30am. The road was quite scary to drive on. Blowing snow and slippery roads slowed down traffic and sent some cars and trucks off the road. Luckily for me my Honda held up and managed to stay on the road. As we got into Saskatchewan the road cleared up quite nicely. During the weekend we also ran into an old friend that flew down from Calgary with her husband to attend the wedding as well. We shared some lunch and did some... Continue reading
