That dark chamber apparatus is a strange lookin piece of equipment. I think we overlook the fact that some of the apparatus made back then could be deemed art in itself.
Some of the ancient telescopes of Galileo for example. Would be priceless artistic artifacts today.
Yet the same principle of optical lenses and refraction still apply in today's Modern Telescopez.
