ahahahhaa!
We will see how this little project turns out! I'm actually only
using the craft paint (maybe) for a touch of color around the plaque.
Unfortunately I'm not always detailed oriented and get anxious to get
started on things....hence the reason I make my husband intervene as
to help not make my projects look so sloppy looking. He draws the
line though at fixing my modge podge and craft paper projects!!!!!
ahahahaha
have a great weekend!

Trends in a crafty kind of way...
Well folks...I'm jumping on the antler trend. I really am surprised at myself. My husband is a bird hunter but not a deer hunter... and I certainly would never have any kind of taxidermy in my house. YAK!!!! So it's surprising to me that I went out yesterday to find some antlers. Then ...
I use to play Bunco with a group of girls. It was fun! Hopefully they'll find a spot for you weekly!
Something New ~
Last night, I raced home with full intentions of locking myself in my studio for a couple of hours. Well, at least long enough to complete a project. You see, Wednesday nights are the ONLY evenings that everyone is home... NO dance lessons, NO baseball, NO football and most importantly, no dr...
oh my! What a huge difference in your brown headed boy to your "other" looking boy! Funny! I have girls so this would throw me in a tizzy! Although I'm sure with 2 girls and eventual mood swings...I'm SURE to be in a tizzy! Ha! Thanks for sharing this fun post!!
Texas Football
My daily subject matter is being interrupted so that this proud mama can toot her horn. Toot, toot! :) This summer, my almost 13 yr. old son was undecided about trying out for his Junior High Football Team. His father and I agreed not to “push him” one way or the other, although, ...
I love these fun sewing finds! My favorite is the sewing machine flashcard.

Sew Pretty
Can you believe it's time for another Pink Saturday post? My, how the days just seem to fly by! Today, I thought I'd give you a closer look at some of the items on my studio shelf. They are just OH "Sew" Pretty. :) Almost everything here was purchased at some sort of sale: estate or y...
oh fun! They look great!
Practice Makes Perfect
After taking the Intermediate Soldering Class with Heather, I finally decided it was time to plug in the iron and do a little practicing myself. After all, doesn't "practice make perfect"? To be honest, I was a little nervous. On Saturday, I witnessed two classmates literately BURN their artw...
What a great find and your flowers are lovely too!
What's your mood?
What's your mood today? I purchased this cute, wooden barometer at a yard sale earlier this summer. I quickly scooped it up, ignoring the $5.00 tag. I figured I would ask my famous "junkin" question: Is this your best price? I was hoping the seller would come down to $3.00. ...
I didn't know there was a Waxahachie tour of homes. I'm going to have to find out more about that. My husband and I love old homes. Fun! Kind of funny....my husband loves Texas 8 Country Reporter. We went there a few years ago for the fair they had. Yes...I know...the Texas 8 Country Reporter. I just go with it!

oh me to! I just bought the prettiest hydrangea plant for my front yard. We just moved to a new house and there are two small ones planted on the side of the house. Can't wait to baby them and make them grow with big beautiful blooms. Oh....and after seeing everyone's peonies (I've researched a bit) and am planting a few of those this fall (the best time to plant them)

I'm a late bloomer!
This morning I walked outside to see what my rambunctious 4-legged baby was doing by the back fence. (I think sometimes I have to watch her more than I did the twins when they were toddlers! LOL) That's when I noticed this pretty little thing! just peeking up from the bottom of the shrub. ...
Great pics of your mom and grandma. Seriously....your grandmother was teeny tiny after having twins! Love it!
happy mother's day (a bit early)
Photo by David Hume Kennerly Here's mom (grammie) when she was about 22 hitting a parked car with a baseball bat. There is a story here, I am sure. Something about car paint being impossible to chip? I think it was for a newspaper story she was writing. I don't quite remember, but I think too ...
Gorgeous!
Pink Frillyness
I though I would share a few more pictures of my favorite tree. You have asked what kind of tree it is but sadly I do not have a clue. It does not bare any fruit, just these lovely pinks frills. It is almost the first thing to bloom in my yard. This above is the view from my bedroom window...
What a lovely baking room...and to see out that window is wonderful!
A Baking Pantry
I have this little room off my kitchen, Mrs. Mathews the previous owner used it as a breakfast room. We were using it for an office, but there was always a huge mess. I decided to not fight the mess and just move it were I can not see it. Makes a happier marriage ;-) Even thought I have a big...

It's Sunday: Bring On The Bling!
It's that time again... My collection is also known as "inventory"! Meaning I list the majority of my vintage bling at my store Heart-Shaped Rock Cottage. The only blingy jewelry left is this cute terrier puppy and this sweet teddy bear! Oh, and this adorable poodle! I am really attracted...
oh my goodness! Wasn't the Magnolia Pearl space just divine. Did you see the sisters walking around in there beautiful garb! My husband peeked in and said, "What is going on in there!!!" Too funny! It was truly like the scene out of Big Brother Where Art Though when the women are bathing in the river in their white cotton get-ups!
More Texas!
One of the BIG highlight's for us was attending the Marburger Show on Tuesday. Tent after tent filled with beautiful antiques and vignettes. I was in HEAVEN! Heather, Shelly and I woke up early with the roosters and a feisty peacock that loved to crow right outside our log cabin. We had our own ...
Wasn't is JUST SO FUN! I got back last night. I posted some pics but am just kicking myself for not getting some pics of "the whole picture". I got lots of close up shots, though. I LOVE the Willow Nest Creations. She sells also at Canton (a First Monday trade days every month). Her stuff is just SO YUMMY! So glad Texas treated you right!

Handmade Vintage Styled Jewelry (trash to treasure project)
I love the look of vintage jewelry, and used to be able to buy it affordably at a local antique mall, which, to my disappointment, recently closed. In the past year or so, I also discovered the work of vintage styled jewelry artist John Wind, of Maximal Art and fell in love immediately with hi...
I love your ribbon spool creation. So imaginative! I'm from Texas. I wish for our house to sale quickly as we are fixing to put it up for sale.

Happy Easter
Yesterday, I was out shopping at TJ Maxx and came across these adorable bunnies by Dee Foust for Bethany Lowe Designs. I was surprised that they were being clearanced before Easter, and I was elated - I haven't been out for that kind of fun shopping in the longest time, though it was supposed t...

Texas Chic
So if you are like me, one of the major tasks when planning a trip is "what should I take to wear?" Especially considering the potential for rain and cooler temperatures.....but the days could be a tad bit on the warm side so......a nice hat to help avoid more sun spots on my face......like her...
