Years from now, I want to remember... A lone streetlight peeking through the curtains of the darkened room The feel of the wood floor beneath my feet As I gently pace, pace, pace My baby in my arms The two... Continue reading

Happy mother's day to all the muthas, and to anyone who dreams of becoming one. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly my own dreams of motherhood morphed into reality, how totally my life was transformed by these two... Continue reading

The other day it dawned on me that I've basically been recording the stories of my life for as long as I can remember, yet I haven't been making any time for it as of late. I didn't feel any... Continue reading

PS: I just asked my dad what he thought when I said I remembered choosing him. He shrugged and said he wasn't "creeped out" whatsoever, and he believed me. And then he said his mother told him he used to talk about being in her womb when he was a child! I never thought to ask him about this, I'm glad your question prompted me to. Good luck to you, Elizabeth! :)

Hi Elizabeth, I was making a little joke there, but that's a good question. I'm not sure if it actually made them nervous at the time or if they just thought I was being cute, or if they knew right away there was something to what I was telling them? I'll have to ask them. They're both enlightened people, most likely one of the reasons I chose them! But I wonder what they thought about it back then. I do know my mother has been telling me that story forever, and they've both been supportive to me on my spiritual journey. :)

The other day W told me, in his very distinct, not quite three year old voice, "No two snowflakes ah alike!" I'm all snowed in with my favorites while "WINTER STORM HERCULES" tumbles on. (Read that aloud in an all... Continue reading

Only six days left until Christmas. And today I turn 35. 35?! For reals? I can still remember when my mother turned 35. What's crazy is, I still feel 19. What's also crazy is, I started this blog when I... Continue reading

I'm finding there are a lot of differences between living in the city and living in the suburbs. Things I never gave much thought to before, things I wouldn't even consider things, now stand up and beg to be noticed.... Continue reading

Hubby and I lost the entire first week of December to that really twisted stomach virus that's been going around. I still can't decide whether or not this virus is inherently evil or just has a really sick sense of... Continue reading

Glue stick. Scissors. Construction paper. STAT! I have a lot to give thanks for this Thanksgiving. If the truth be told, I don't think I've ever been happier than I've been the last seven weeks, being home with my two... Continue reading

A quick and curious addendum to this post, wherein I cured my baby's blocked tear duct with breast milk, aka: liquid gold. (Gold, that is; liquid gold, Texas tea...) My eyes were really gunky the other day and I started... Continue reading

We bought a few different books in preparation for W's becoming an older brother, but I really love this book, "I'm a Big Brother" by former elementary school teacher and librarian Joanna Cole. It's a simple yet perfect book for... Continue reading

Please note that the bulk of this post was typed with my left pointy finger, while simultaneously nursing my newborn. For that, I think I should receive extra credit. You hear that, internet? And...I digress. I found some nice recipes... Continue reading

Dear Emma Rose, Four minutes ago, you turned four weeks old. And even though we're still getting to know each other, there's this part of me that feels as if I've known you forever. How is it that an entire... Continue reading

Here's a really cute gift idea for the Astrologically inclined new mama in your life: Alex and Ani bracelets with charms of the astrological symbols of her babies! Truth be told, I actually saw these in the hospital gift shop... Continue reading

Dirty toilet water flowing out into one's hospital room can be a real drag. So you can imagine my upset when the toilet in my hospital room overflowed during my post partum stay. I consider hospitals to be germy to... Continue reading
