Truly strange times we live in. I'm too young to have experienced McCarthyism but from what I've read and seen I imagine that the level of demagoguery has to be roughly equivalent. What's missing is a modern day Edward R. Murrow to alert everyone to the damage the demagogue is doing to the country. The right and left wings of this country now exist in echo chambers of "news" like Fox and Daily Kos, misreading opinion for fact. When one regularly demonizes anyone who disagrees with him, as has happened on both sides of the aisle, reasonable men will not pursue politics leaving the honest citizen with the likes of the current and future Congress.

"The design we have developed with the Port Authority calls for not only rebuilding the retail space that was lost on 9/11, but going above and beyond what was there before. We want to create a real destination for visitors and shoppers, a center that will share many of the attributes of the city’s great retail hubs." - Larry Silverstein, Towers 2, 3, and 4 Developer http://www.wtc.com/about/retail So, there you have your sacred space that must be kept free of any whiff of Muslim taint. Sweet Lord, the depths of cynicism required by this controversy boggle the mind.

You had me at ignorant. And that goes for all the reflexive party-out-of-power criticism of any current administration.

It will be unlawful for any person, corporation; organization local, state, or federal law enforcement officer; local or state government; or any other entity to require or even ask an individual cardholder to produce their social security card for any purpose other than electronic verification of employment eligibility and verification of identity for Social Security Administration purposes. I, however, am a definite believer in the slippery slope argument here.

What steps are Democrats taking/you advocating to minimize it in HCR? Now that HCR's the law of the land let me suggest that our entire government work together to ensure it works properly.
