We all can pose about our life’s credibility in a pinch, and often we do in when we are making a diplomatic argument or to humor a friend and a friendly argument for arguments sake, but most of the time, the lot of us don’t - simply put, our credibility is our life! It’s what we build everything around, it is who we are, and to make a mockery of it, that would be to put everything we hold dear at stake. The general lot of us wouldn’t do that. Continue reading

And the claim that Wolfe wants to defend? Why her own of course, isn’t that the claim of any philosopher? And isn’t that Wolf’s claim from page 102 to 105 many of the paragraphs liberally begin with “To me” or “in any case it seems to me”, “The proposal I favor” whether it be her own or another it is the one in which she very closely aligns with be it a hedonistic perspective page 105 3rd paragraph inside of the page; or a loving philosophy, that she may call “reasons of Love’ even if she well admits, it may not constitute a reason to love. The definition of what constitutes a family by definition is by nature as diverse as those families themselves. In addition, there is the economics and social capital of each family as it pertains to the state and local governments which makes this a public policy issue and a social problem. Continue reading

I've seen some pretty raunchy emails in my time of a husband accusing his significant other of some otherwise rude behavior, not to mention the emails were not contained but were spread across a variety of social media and made quite public. At the time the husband in question was trying to coerce his wife to sue his ex- wife and estranged son for these "assumed derogatory slanderous" comments that were in all reality coming from the husband himself. Needless to say, the current wife soon realized that it was the her husband who while unable to keep his pants zipped, and in an effort to cover his tracks, was doing his best to create and alternative reality to keep his current wife confused as to what was going on in her world. I'm not sure if the wife of this silly adulterous man ever sued the man she was married to over the lies he told, but I do know that she refused to sue his ex wife and his son - over the lies, after finding the emails on his computer and facing him with them - he and his current flame. But I do know that she still has a copy and she tells me she still thinks about it whenever he come up with some out of the blue story that doesn't make sense.

I used to contemplate a great deal in what I should be doing, worried that I would err in life, and I became miserable. But I have been taught well by my life experiences - to act more, contemplate less and stop watching myself simply survive. I've been taught by... Continue reading

Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art.... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival. ~C.S. Lewis If a friend is in trouble, don't annoy him by asking if there is anything you can do. Think up something appropriate and do it. ~Edgar Watson Howe In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit. ~Albert Schweitzer Cherish the friend who tells you a harsh truth, wanting ten times more to tell you a loving lie.~Robert Brault, www.robertbrault.com "Good gossip is just what's going on. Bad gossip is stuff that is salacious, mean, and bitchy; the kind most people really enjoy"~ Liz Smith A lie will easily get you out of a scrape, and yet, strangely and beautifully, rapture possesses you when you have taken the scrape and left out the lie. ~Charles Edward Montague, Disenchantment Continue reading

An abused spouse in an abusive situation must choose to no longer be a victim. In doing that he or she must actively participate in their own healing and self-preservation and education. No one else can nor will do that for them. Continue reading

The epochs are most certainly different, the eighth century is long gone to be sure and I doubt anyone would listen to a prophet were he to arrive festooned in a camel hair raiment with a leather belt and a beard darn near to his knees or worse yet a suit and tie on Trinity Broadcasting Network, asking for offerings in interchange for a prayer cloth that “doused with Holy Anointing Oil” can heal your physical agony and create within you a spiritual bond with Christ Jesus the begotten of the Father as your personal Savior . That would be just too cliché. After all, that is what we expect of the Prophet, one or the other. We’d never expect Regular Joe/Jane. How is it that we can worship a homeless man when we read the Bible and attend our religious places of worship and yet condemn one in our communities when we leave our places of worship?.........Those without mothers and fathers, foreigners and those without legal rights. They demand open-mindedness in justice, and equality. They insist on valuing the material goods, possessions of others as well as for and of ourselves. Our spiritual standards mandate reverence for all life, not just human life. Our transcendent treaty is not just about those engagements at Church, Synagogue or Temple, it is not just about Spiritual union, is not just about the sacramental; what good is the ceremonious? This sacramental is thought to be guiding in the path of the good, if one is malicious towards one’s fellow human being? Continue reading

We women are at times at fault for our own gender segregation and discrimination against ourselves and that of our men. The rights that we are fighting for other women in the Middle East and other foreign countries, that we claim to have here, exist as mere Monopoly money. Many... Continue reading

When it comes to child support we often choose to focus on a man’s obligation to support his offspring and both a woman and a man’s obligation to society to get and stay married to one person. Let us no longer delude ourselves. Our society does not work that way, perhaps it never did, but we divorce, there are true “sperm donors” because there are legitimate sperm banks, and while we may consider a “traditional family” to be comprised of a man and a woman and two children, that is just simply an ignorant conception. “Evidence suggests that direct-to-consumer advertising of prescription drugs increases pharmaceutical sales and both helps to avert underuse of medicines and leads to potential overuse. Concern about such advertising has increased recently owing to the withdrawal from the market of heavily advertised drugs found to carry serious risks. Moreover, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been criticized for its weak enforcement of laws regulating such advertising. “ Continue reading

. “We adore the community image of the “June Cleaver” housewife in the 1950s as she endures to function as the most prevailing fairytale of American parenthood”. Ah those were the days. The global financial crisis is a global class war. In 2006, Warren Buffett, one of the world’s richest billionaires, said that what is going in is “class warfare,” and that, “it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.” Continue reading

Do we really and should we really criminalize death in such a way for people who are in pain or choose to end their own lives? When we take an oath to do no harm – does that mean that we do no harm by forcing life at all costs – even when living is worse than death, just because our so called morality or Godliness says to live is better than to die? There are so many more issues other than just drug abuse in our communities that social services can play a role, such a large active role. I weep, inside, at the lessons taught to me whether by ignorance or because my mother, her sister, and the women in my community were just so damned down trodden in their self-esteem and worthlessness. We have been divided by issues of gender, politics, abortions, religion and yet we are all linked together by one common strand – DNA – aka – HUMANITY. Why can’t we see that it is our diversity, which can be common ground for us to work together, why is it that we cannot see that? Continue reading
