Hey, y'all! Shellye here to share with you today :) I had so much fun crafting these projects...and believe it or not, they were really quick and easy to put together. First up I have just the sweetest little hanger using "A Charmed Life" and a few goods from my stash: I started with a heavyweight chipboard semi circle that I covered with Happy Times Paper. Next, I matted the cute Insta Square with a swatch of the Happy Times (Side B) Paper and then attached it to the center of the semi-circle with foam adhesive. I embellished the top... Hello, Simple Stories friends! You have Shellye here with you today with two projects from the Homespun Collection; one of my very favorites of the new releases! It reminds me so much of the handmade quilts and dolls that my grandmother used to make using calico prints, ginghams and plaids. And the colors are so vibrant and cheerful...it's hard not to smile as you thumb through the papers and sweet embellishments! First up is a mason jar mini album that I put together. You can find the steel rule die on-line OR you can order the chipboard pre-cut, along with... Continue reading

A happy Monday-before-Christmas! Shellye here today with a gift idea for giving your handmade treats in. If you have a large-shaped die or cutting system, then this is super easy to put together! I've used a jar die, but certainly any shape would work, as long as it's large enough :) To begin, I created a 4X4X4 box from one of the December Documented papers. You can find templates online or cover a premade box with the patterned paper of your choice. Next, I cut the jar shape from two different patterned papers twice. I then cut two of the... Happy Friday to you all! Shellye here to share with you today :) I'm changing up the focus of this week's spotlight with Spellbinders to bring a 12 Days of Christmas Tag-Style Mini Album using SN@P! and a bit of December Documented. For the base of the album, I started with Spellbinder's Wonky Rectangles Nestabilities and used the largest (3.25" X 4.25") die. I first cut the shape from a thin weight chipboard and then various papers from the 6X6 December Documented Paper Pad. Although using smaller dies from the same set would also look just as sweet, I decided... Continue reading

Happy Thursday and Happy Halloween! Shellye here to share a layout using the brand new collection from Simple Stories, "Daily Grind". The colors and design of this collection are perfect for both boy and girl projects...and you'll be introduced to a new element called "Bits & Pieces". "Daily Grind" is loaded with chevron patterns. For my layout I chose a couple of different colors and cut apart the red one to create a fun border! I then layered on dot patterned paper and a 6X8 speech bubble journal card. I used different areas of the speech bubbles as a background... Continue reading

Hello! Shellye along with you on this Friday with a couple of projects from the new "December Documented" Collection. I wanted to try something a little different in the home decor arena and came up with this sweet 3-D shadowbox of a winter wonderland scene. I started with an 8 X 8 matchbook box that I painted a pretty bright green. I cut a panel from one of the December Documented papers and placed it over the opening on front of the box. Next, I worked on the 3-D scene on the inside of the box. I layered a variety... Continue reading

Hi there, Simple Stories friends! Shellye sharing a few "Back To School" ideas with the new Smarty Pants Collection. While perusing the 'decorate-your-locker' aisle with my daughter, she stated how much she wanted a couple of magnetic organziers to hang up...my thought immediately went to Smarty Pants and how I could adapt her ideas into things I could make at home! First up is a very simple steno-styled notebook. I made this using a sheet of medium weight chipboard that I cut into two 4" X 6" strips. Next, I cut four pieces of patterned paper to the same size... Continue reading

Hello, Simple Stories friends! Shellye here today... I'm glad to be back with you and kick off the month of July with some I HEART SUMMER goodies! I love all of the different shapes of chipboard that you can find these days. While browsing my local scrapbook store I picked up several pieces, two of which were a 'flower' and 'pennant' shape...the two came together to make the cutest ice cream cone! Putting this together was as easy as tracing the shapes onto selected I Heart Summer papers and then cutting out. I did machine stitch around the edges after... Continue reading

Greetings! Shellye along today with a mix of Urban Traveler and SN@P to share! We took the kids on a Spring Break cruise and I got a lot of great pictures that I wanted to scrap with Urban Traveler. I made a collage of four photos into a single 4x6 print by using an app by www.photosheet.com I lined up the photo with one of the artistic journaling cards and went from there in matting with a patterned paper. The blue 'wavy' piece at the bottom was traced from a template by Kiwi Lane Designs. Along with a few die-cuts... Continue reading
