Ruth, I didn't know how else to do this but I'm writing a bit about Naomi Berry as I was shocked to find she has disappeared from search engine sight with so little out there about her. Seems 50 years of writing should leave more of a footprint. Do you have any words about her (other than the great ones you wrote in Remembrance of Things Paris)? Another Great New Product
Just back from the Berkshire Farmers' Market where I found a new (to me, anyway) product: Carr's Ciderhouse Apple Cider Syrup. Couldn't wait to try it, so I roasted the butternut squash I'd also bought at the market, and then mashed it with some salt, butter and generous lashings of the syrup...
What an excellent point about the pork melange that one often gets –– it never occurred to me that it would come from different parts of the beast. Gorgeous recipe with those tomatillos –– easy to see why it's been a favorite for 30 years.
