I am, thanks! I'm so much happier working for someone else than I was working for myself! (And since I'll be closing my biz at the end of the year, it made no sense to me to pay for a blog anymore.) You can also check the free blogs at wordpress.com, but I actually found their interface more confusing.
Randomness
I'm thinking of moving my blog from Typepad to Blogger. Anyone have any helpful insight as to how difficult this will be to do? I made biscuits for breakfast- ok, so it was more like brunch. Anyway, as I was making those biscuits, Bayleigh was helping, and it occurred to me this seemingly small ...
Hello doll - I just switched back to Blogger from Typepad (after starting with Blogger 6 or 7 years ago, and then moving to Typepad!). If you go into the help topics on Blogger, and do a search, there is a way to import your posts, but I'm not sure about the images/comments. I tried, had a hard time and gave up. I also decided I wanted a fresh start anyway, so I started new at blogger again.
BTW, Blogger has changed A LOT in the last few years and the interface and ability to customize the layout is quite nice. Good luck! XO

OMG,I love your new banner! 'Handmade from ladies through babies' Brilliant.
LA Craft Experience
Well, it was . . . an experience. I mentioned in my last post that I was psyched because this was an evening event. It's a great idea in concept, BUT I, of course, put in a full day of work before we even loaded the van. Fortunately Andy was my able assistant. To make matters more stressful, we ...
Ah, yes. Welcome [back] to the working world. I feel your pain. Hope all is well, it will take a while (i.e. 6-ish weeks!) and then all will be well (ish)!!! Good luck my friend! Don't worry about the blog, we do what we can do, and that's all we can do...XO
I haven't forgotten you...
Okay, so I have really abandoned you for the last month or so. So I'll do my best to catch you up and then proceed back on our regular schedule. The family made their semi-annual trek through Missouri and Arkansas to visit the relatives. We celebrated Olivia's 4th birthday complete with the...
I couldn't agree more....and I totally get where you're coming from regarding keeping up the blog (I'm there!). Glad you're feeling better - what a scare! And that little Bailey girl? What a beauty! XO
Let's see if I remember how to do this...
I've been missing this place. It feels a bit strange to be back, after so long away. So much to say. Do I blurt it all out in one long rambling post or break down into quick bite size chunks?? I guess since Bayleigh is sleeping, I'll just write what I can and go from there. Why the long a...

Our Chicken Coop
THIS SITE HAS MOVED CLICK HERE FOR UPDATED COOP INFO AND TO ORDER PLANS Well, here's the chicken coop we've been working on. Please take note this is a very long post. I tried to share as many photos (click to enlarge) as possible and will address all the details at the end. Hopefully I won't...

Here goes nothing
I did it! A big thank you to Jane for her excellent flip video skills. The background clanging is courtesy of Fatty. Now to add the button bands and weave in the rest of the ends.... Have a great weekend!
Great post Jena. I have plenty of insecurities about myself and my appearance (I can so relate to the curly hair!). It wasn't until I was firmly in my 40's that I finally threw in the towel and became comfortable with the way I am. I'll never wear skinny jeans and I'll never have sleek hair, and I'm okay with it.
I think getting to the point where you are comfortable in your own skin is one of the most beautiful traits anyone can have. That confidence just oozes out of people with it, and screams to the world. And that, my friend, is beauty & happiness.
An ode to freckles (and other "flaws")
Bergman, originally uploaded by Federico Erra. Last week I met a woman who was nearly 40 and had not one wrinkle, one sun spot or one blemish on her pale white skin. She told me, "Oh yeah, people always tell me I look so young for my age. It's because I wear 70spf on my face every single day."...
She's selfish like that.
Care for a cookie?
Fortunately, the clouds have parted and we are having a lovely Sunday in San Pedro. The big sale is still on here at casa de Kelley Hart. Some of my favorite people stopped by to shop and have wine and cookies--what's more fun than that? Imelda found a little love in the shop. Smoket...
OF COURSE I read your blog. Yes, Ill be home. Are you bringing me cookies?

HEY. How come Tanya got an early edition skirt? Huh?

Oh Erin, I love it! And that color! Nice job!
Tea Leaves
Here it is. My tea leaves cardigan. It's not the best photo, but I took a bunch and wouldn't you know that this is the best I got? Now it's dark so there is no chance of a re-shoot until tomorrow and I am afraid tomorrow I won't have time. I like this sweater a lot. The sleeves are a funky...
There is no way in the world I would give that necklace away! It's gorgeous, and I've worked my butt off this year - it would be my present to me!!
Sora Designs Giveaway!
Just in time for the holidays, a totally fantastic jewelry giveaway from Wen of Sora Designs. I had the pleasure of meeting Wen at MOCFA (that's the Museum of Craft and Folk Art, which you should absolutely check out) in San Francisco last week (she was selling her wares, I was signing books...
So glad the clown is feeling better - you guys all rest up! We have a busy few weeks coming up! XO
Bad week for clowns
It's been a rough week here at the Hart-Jenkins household. After having a fever of 103 for two days, accompanied by a gut wrenching cough, which morphed into the worst cold of all time, the "clown" woke up at 2 in the morning with a horrible skull splitting head ache. He never really gets hea...
I'm laughing out loud, because I can totally hear this!
Hart Quote
I'm around this woman a lot. She's my wife. 23 years. She says some crazy things and I'll be posting them here on occasion. Here's Hart Quote #1: "Good looking guys who are a little gay... SEXY." —Kelley Hart
It's blazing hot, thanksforasking... Good luck this weekend!
It's Show time!
When you're trying to make a living selling your wares, it can be a bit unpredictable. Summer time is always a bit slow for retail. I know this, I should plan for this, but some how we always run out of money before the end of summer. When I was a school teacher, I had the same problem. We re...
Love.
Unleashed!
FIN-A-LLY!!! I can speak. I can speak. Well, a little anyways. Enough to give you a line name and a tiny preview. Here it is (well, sorta'-kinda' a little bit), Art Journal, my new line for Windham Fabrics...which will be available for quilt shops to order in October (in stores late April 2010)...
Hey dude, you are more productive than me in a day. I was just playing catch up.
Those bodices are GORGEOUS.
Back to work
After a long weekend of more parties than we've been to all summer, I guess it's time to kick it into gear. We've had the best summer ever; totally relaxed, no schedule, perfect weather. Emmet finally goes back to school tomorrow, later than everyone else we know. I feel a bit lazy since so many...

Those are simply stunning.
I NEED more pillows!
Yes, need. I need, I need, I need! OK so maybe I don't really need, but I would love to own these beautiful pillows handcrafted over at MissMosh.
OMG, look at you go.
Can I have it?
Kidding.
Sort of.
So I finished a quilt.
What do you do when you're sad and lonely because your 13 year old has abandoned you to go to the skateboard camp of his dreams? You finish a ufo that has been stuck to your design wall for a few months. Naturally I got started late in the evening, because that's how I roll, so the lighting ...
Scott will be so jealous. He keeps watching his tomatoes ripen, only to find out that Candy's been watching too!
Tomato Fest!
For me, tomatoes are the best part of summer. Yes I know, food. It's all about the food. But at least tomatoes are healthy AND delicious! These are the best tomatoes I've ever planted. I believe the variety is "Pink Lady". They are a gorgeous dark pinkish/red, and so shiny. And BIG, an...
I was in such a rush to get them to you that I forgot to!
Dishtowels by Sommer Designs
Hello there on this lovely Friday! I thought I'd share these super-cute dishtowels with you today. They were created by Carrie Sommer of Sommer Designs using the Picnic Parade fabrics. She was kind enough to make these and some coordinating aprons for me a few months ago when I was preparing...
