We travelled on the same boat 2 weeks before you and loved it. We took the cruise of August 3 to Patmos, Mytilini, Chios and Symi. Have you ever been to Symi? I loved it! It's a peaceful, quiet little island. We stayed there from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm and had enough time to visit the island and have lunch at a small fish taverna where we enjoyed fresh fish and seafood at a very reasonable price. We also enjoyed sailing with Salamis Filoxenia very much.

Sounds great for lunch or dinner. I usually make pork fillet in mushroom sauce which is not so healthy because of the fresh cream and butter. I'll give your recipe a try.

We have some great beaches in Limassol as well but , honestly, Mackenzie Beach looks amazing, especially in the fourth picture. If you hadn't added a caption, I'd say this beach is somewhere in Indonesia!!! :-) I haven't been to Mackenzie beach in Larnaca yet , not since 2000. I hear it's changed completely now.

Coral Bay is only a one-hour drive from Lemesos and we love going on a day trip there. The beach is fabulous and very safe for children. We stayed in Lemesos on the weekend of kataklysmos. There were some very interesting events and lots of dancing and singing. It's not like the great festival in Larnaca but it's getting better every year.

At home, I cook healthily from Monday to Friday. Grilled fish or chicken, lots of salads, baked vegetables and fruit, legumes twice a week. My kids are now beginning to like my cooking even though I still need to get them eat legumes. At least they love lentils which I cook with olive oils and onions.Saturday is a free day for everyone and on Sundays it's the traditional Cypriot barbecue (souvla) which is also quite healthy in moderation.

I used to argue a lot with my mother. It was only when I lost her that I realized how much time was lost over trivial matters. Sometimes we behave as if we're going to live for ever. I wish I had made an effort to understand her like you did with your mother.

I've never heard of Agios Theodoros (Larnaca) before! Shame on me! I had only heard of Agios Theodoros village in the mountains ( Pitsilia)Your photos are super and the fish looks so fresh and delicious.

Here in Lemesos, the Carnival for us is more than a tradition. It is part of our city and our lifestyle. It is a time we all look forward to soon after the New Year festivities and , unlike in other cities in Cyprus, we all dress up and have fun. This year it's going to be a great way to forget our problems for a while and be merry, especially at these difficult times of financial crisis our country is going through.

I was at work on Valentine's day when I received a rose and an unsigned Valentine's card inviting me to dinner at my home address! When I got back home from work, I realised that my husband had cooked dinner for us which he served in the candlelit dining-room. At first he served the wine and then went on to say that the kids had already eaten dinner and gone to bed! It was my best Valentine's day ever!

I love Saint Valentine's Day! Can't wait to celebrate... :-)
