Why only 17 minutes for the Deuce?

Two things: 1. I want to return the appreciation back to Chris, Jon, and the folks at the Other Journal. I can't think of a better group of people to be partnering with in publishing creative, thoughtful books. And aside from the book projects, they are simply good folk! The closing description is quite appropriate. Whatever we try to do with theology and its "dogmatic slumber," we ourselves are certainly a bit "undisciplined" and "unruly." Whether we are "effective" remains to be seen. We like to think we are. We hope others do as well. Being effective is easier when we have the sorts of partners we do in the Other Journal. 2. I'm a native Texan transplanted to Eugene, OR after 8 years in Southern California. I've spent a good bit of time in Seattle, and I must say the Oregon liquids are better than those in Seattle (and Washington in general). Our coffee, beer, and wine is simply the best. (I might concede the coffee title to Seattle, but just barely. Beer and wine, however, is better in the Willamette Valley, hands down.) Whether or not we are combining forces for a theological movement, it is a foregone conclusion that the Northwest reigns supreme when it comes to coffee, beer, and wine. Perhaps we are at the forefront of a Northwest liquid movement. Peace, Chris D.
