So, Typepad is expensive. It was worth it when I first began this blog roughly a year ago, because Blogger was very limited in what you could do. However, Google is doing amazing things with Blogger now, and it has made leaps and bounds past Typepad. Not to mention, it's... Continue reading

I'm almost done with the first trimester, and I am SO looking forward to feeling human again. The nausea, exhaustion, heart burn, dizziness, breakouts, and food aversions have been terrible! We are so excited about what the future holds for us as parents, however, for those out there trying to... Continue reading

I finished the Nativity I've been working on, and I actually finished it before Christmas! I sculpted the heads, hands, and animals from paper-clay, and the bodies from tinfoil (cheaper than using paper-clay, and the bodies tend to be too thick to dry). I created the costumes on the body... Continue reading

Excuse me, but we may be the same person! I am also a quilter, my name is Ashley, and I'm married to a Justin (we tied the knot in February)! I also adore sewing and birds. Like I said... we may be the same person! So, self, how do I get my hands on one of those awesome custom birds? Thanks Ashley!

This past week, I thought it would be nice to build a gingerbread house. J thought it would be nice to eat a gingerbread house. We both ended up happy from that one! This photo of him diving into the finished product was just too cute not to share! And... Continue reading

Awww you Sourpuss McScrooge!! It's okay, I still love you. :)
Haha, glad to know SOMEONE sides with me! I wish our town had their decorations up, but I don't think that they decorate at all (any decorations left out would be stolen overnight). Wow, quilts for gifts! I'd love to be a relative of yours this Christmas! I've been so busy with other things, I've had no time to make gifts, so I'm just searching out neat handmade things from other artisans that I think loved ones will adore.

In less than a month, a very lovely couple is getting married. I designed the silhouettes for their wedding, which were printed on 150 thank you cards, and the menus for the reception. I also created 12 gorgeous pendants for the bride and wedding party. The pendants will be tied... Continue reading

The song is somewhat terrifying in its awfulness, so I don't blame you! Now I'm about to go look up "Thistle Hair the Christmas Bear" and give it a go, I've never heard it before! The wooden chicken ornament sounds really neat. You should post photos! ~Ashley

Yesterday, being a lovely Saturday, seemed like the perfect time to put on some Christmas music and make ornaments! It's getting close to that time of year, and since it is my favorite time of year, I'm only too anxious for it to begin! Lucy came over about 12pm, and... Continue reading

(Before I begin, I'd like to apologize for my long absence! I was very ill for about two weeks, and I was not able to make anything during that time. But I'm all back now!) Recently, I was inspired by Jenni Horne's gorgeous tree angel, Cherish. I decided to make... Continue reading

This has been an "off" week for me. You know what I'm talking about, we've all had them! That's why there have been so few posts. I've gotten NO sewing done. My internet has been down intermittently (on my computer only, J's is fine... thanks Dell...) for the past few... Continue reading

September was my month as Queen Bee in the Bee Modern Too group on Flickr. I've received all but one of the blocks back so far, and I couldn't wait to share how it's coming along! For my block I chose gnomes, mushrooms, and anything "gnomish". The gals in my... Continue reading
