Hello there. I've made it to the pc! Since we've moved here, it's felt like non-stop madness, box shuffling, wood chopping and then jumping on the bike and hurriedly cycling off to work, so despite the fact that I work a (admittedly only slightly) shorter day, and only 4 days... Continue reading

Well, we've moved. From the sunny West Country right across the country to the Essex/Suffolk border. We've swapped urban sprawl for rural delights, although at the moment, the house is in complete chaos and we're opening boxes like it's Christmas. What will be inside this one? The garden here is... Well, we're back from our hols. Back with a bouncingly healthy Stashlet and an exceedingly poorly Mr G, who has been sitting on the sofa ever since we got back on Friday feeling very delicate and morose, and coughing like a 200-a-day smoker. And what's with the weather? We had... Continue reading

Hmmm, it seems that Robins are a completely different species in the US. Here in the UK they look like this: Also, while I'm here, I've been meaning to let you know about Lewis and Irene fabrics. Do you know them? Every time I see your CaliCozy quilts I think of them, especially the line called Flo's Wildflowers. But please don't tell everyone - I want to buy some more for myself before it's all sold out!

We're on holiday. The plan was to sit by the pool, and visit friends but instead we've had rubbish weather and a rather poorly Stashlet which has meant staying home, brow mopping, chocolate flapjack eating and dvd watching. A perfect excuse for some holiday crochet! I did plan to bring... Continue reading

Hello! Sorry, I wasn't planning to be away that long but life has been slightly mad in the last couple of weeks and whilst I do actually have some things to show you, I don't have any photos of them so... Here's some more Lewis and Irene! It is rather... Continue reading

Hello! I must admit to not having done much since my last post, partly due to having the maddest two weeks ever and partly because I managed to half slice the end of my finger off on a piece of glass so was completely unable to knit or crochet. But...... Continue reading

Typepad HTML Email You're welcome, Evelyn. I hope it is still useful - it's rather old now!

Oh, they were! I made them (and a massive strawboard cheesecake type affair) for a birthday party, but they were inundated with food and we ended up bring them home again. So we've been caked up to our eyebrows all week!
When I was having my major yarn shop for supplies for this lovely cardi a few weeks ago, I thought what the heck, and treated myself to a ball of Drops Fabel in Berry Dreams. Really it was the colour that sold it to me, following on from my established... Continue reading

Happy to help, Nicholson :-) and apologies for the really terrible delay in responding. Hopefully I'll be a bit quicker now the mojo is working again!
Gosh, I am ridiculously excited about the fact that this is the third post I've managed in 2 weeks. Given the fact that this is possibly a higher frequency of posting than the last, what... four years, I feel pretty good about it. As I said previously, I've been thinking... Continue reading

Ravelry: A Good Vinatage Cardigan Getting ready to do a bit of yarn shopping. This crochet cardigan looks fabulous, and Drops are having a sale (which ends tomorrow) so I need to get a move on! Continue reading

Well, it's been more than a year now since my last post. I think about this blog a lot. Mostly when I'm at work (I have a job now!). It seems that, like a lot of people who started blogging around the mid Naughties, life has got in the way,... Continue reading

Your images reminded me of Carl Larsson. Do you know him? A Swedish painter, died in 1919. I love his images of family life.

Gosh, I've been away for so long that I barely know where to start! I write posts in my head in the middle of the night and never get any further so here's a test of mobile blogging or moblogging if you feel that way inclined. Let's see if this... Continue reading

Quilt number 2, which started life as the backing to the baby quilt, has mostly taken a very slow back seat in the last month or two, mainly because I've been crocheting, and also because the next bit was going to be a bit of a fiddle and I never... Continue reading

I've been flitting from project to project in the last few weeks, following the completion of the baby quilt. Mostly I've been crocheting (and there'll be a post about that coming along shortly) but I've also done a spot of dress making and finally managed to do a bit more... Continue reading

Meanwhile, back as Stashlet's quilt, here's how far I'd got before I put the quilting on hold in order to finish Baby L's quilt: One panel of steps and one panel of circles done. I really like the circles, and am tempted to do the whole main panel of quilting... Continue reading

It's done! Well, it was finished a week ago, but it took a while to get decent light and non-gale conditions for some photos. Mr G did the honors and held it up (better than pegs!) but I forgot to take some photos of the back to had to pin... Continue reading
