I carefully studied the study you mention, and blogged about it here. The lead author, Dr. Sofi was kind enough to leave a response: http://advancedmediterraneandiet.com/blog/?p=70 I believe the traditional Mediterranean diet indeed reduces the incidence of Alzheimers disease. Part of the benefit may be from fish consumption. I recommend eating fish twice weekly, preferably the cold-water fatty fish like albacore tuna, trout, or salmon. A recent study associated being overweight in mid-life with the incidence of Alzheimers disease. To help my patients lose weight, I have published a free Mediterranean diet here: http://advancedmediterraneandiet.com/doityourselfdiet.html Thanks for helping spread the word about the Mediterranean diet. -Steve
