I took this picture the Sunday morning before my surgery. I wanted to remember what it was like and recently came across it in my phone. I actually purposely forgot about it. I gasped when I saw it, whoa I was scared and I truly did not know what to expect. Now it is like staring at someone, I want to grab and embrace. Reassure her it will be OK. You will feel the best that you had forgotten and thrilled daily to be able to have the life you imagined again. Yes, now that bare chest carries a scar.... Continue reading

I first discovered the joy of Overnight Oats on a work break in January and have been in love ever since with the hearty combo of oats, greek yogurt and fruit for breakfast. While scouring Pinterest for the perfect at-home recipe, I quickly realized I was not alone in this dietary obsession, Pinterest is filled with oodles and oodles of unique takes... Finally after finding a somewhat basic one, it initially became a team effort with my Best Friend though she soon took over the making part and I became the official tester. We soon within weeks became the ultimate... Continue reading

Life is what I am talking about. Who cares if we are not perfect or scared shitless to get out of our comfort zone. We really truly have nothing to lose. Ok maybe our pride, but it is stupid thing and actually insignificant when it comes to the fleeting delicacy of this precious life we have given to live. This is not a dress rehearsal I once heard and now I know it is true. Seek that Happiness you deserve and revel in the loved ones you have in this moment. Forgive the ones that hurt you and throw that... Continue reading

My favorite Mid-Century Monday series is back for the summer beginning with a little look back at Swimming Season of 1960 and maybe a game of shuffle board:)I came across these lovely images in the Vintage Time/Life Vault, Celebrating Summer Across America. So, Back in 1960 Life Magazine sent Photographer Joe Scherschel to capture the new wonderful world of Private Backyard Swimming Pools. I hope you enjoy the peek here and my Modern twist on Pool Party Favors. *There might be a little StoryboardC. commentary as... Continue reading

Marilyn via pinterest. Marilyn Monroe drinking Champagne in the Hollywood Hills/July 1962 wearing Pucci. Photo: George Barris. Ah The Fun in the Sun season is upon us finally unless you live in a climate where it is Funny and Sunny all the time:) Either way where you fall on the longitude and latitude lines, who doesn't like to cool down with a favorite cocktail. Even though I am still in recovery, I do enjoy a occasional cocktail while watching the sunset outside my little studio's window. And my warm weather Stand-by is a pretty easy Cocktail to conjure up. Made... Continue reading

In February, I finally took the plunge and ordered my Day Designer Planner after a about a year or so of hemming and hawing. I struggled with committing to another new paper planning system. I had tried a few fancy Designer ones that just ended up in a drawer or a prop for flat-lay photo:) Now reflecting back, I only wish I had bought it sooner. The Day designer has become my brain on paper. It keeps me on track like never before in my long line of planner history and making a positive impact on how I go about... Continue reading

Hi Big Red! The other day on my break at work I decided to visit our Mall's newish Fancy Candy Store, Lolli & Pops. After Few Seconds of entering this sweet oasis, I was assaulted by the sight of the very Delicious, yet Different BIG RED Pop (or soda if your not from Minnesota:). Recently living in Austin, Texas I was re-introduced to THE Childhood favorite and bonding over it with my friend Belle at Lunch, a mutual lover of this cream-like soda dream and thinking how cool it was in Soda Dispenser form. Unfortunately it still left me craving... Continue reading

I have not been feeling good for quite sometime. Blaming myself perpetually for my bad habits or lack of self-care when honestly I try my very best a lot of the time. But, I finally now have the answers and pieces to the puzzle to move forward. Despite the serious diagnosis, I feel a deep calm in knowing that it is not my fault and deep gratitude for all the amazing things I do have in this little life of mine to live for. Writing this post today even has more value knowing it is National Women's Day. As Women... Continue reading

I don't know if I should of titled this Winter beauty because my beauty routine is pretty much the same year around especially in the eye department. But, I thought it would be a fun post since my day job is in the Beauty Business and if you are anything like me... Simple, yet terribly chic;) You will love this mini beauty series on Keeping it simplified and classic with a twist (think Adele meets Grace Kelly and then goes out to dinner with Jane Birkin). Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing all that goes into my... Continue reading

I thought it was long overdue for another installment of The Top Four Things I learned in the last year. Some of it is even a repeat from my last time back in 2015. Learning lessons almost takes a few tries right? And how those life lessons have so many variables and can be ongoing process. The First Lesson of 2016, I want to share actually came into my life in the end of this year. As One of the Four Agreements from Don Miguel Ruiz classic self-help book of the same title. I read it many years ago and... Continue reading

A good strong cup of French Roast. Receiving a hand-written letter in the mail. Laughter until it hurts. A prayer you never imagined would be answered. A fresh snowfall. Meeting a new friend that has the same creative interests as you. Running errands with your best friend. Doing Laundry and hand washing dishes. A afternoon drive. Writing Morning Pages. One good Mexican Martini, not 4:) Praying the Rosary. The color yellow. A good font. A down feather comforter. Bunnies coconut cake. Yarn Pom Pom's. Stripes. Anything Parisian. A good Biography or self-help book. A long car drive. Memory keeping. Afternoon... Continue reading

One of my Favorite kind of new-ish traditions for the New Year is picking One Little Word® to be a part of my journey. As a memory keeper/writer/ Blogger, I have a deep love affair with words and their meanings. So, it has been a perfect project over the years and this year I have decided to really "show up" and even participate in creator's Ali Edwards Class. Yesterday morning before work, I watched the videos and read the initial prompts. Pretty cool stuff as always. Ali never ceases to amaze me with her openness and authentic approach to life... Merry Christmas Friends. My little list of random currents in this chilly, yet charming holiday season. Being grateful for being home for the holidays. Enjoying the Snow and Christmas lights glistening under that blanket of white. The sound of snow blowers digging us out. Seeing giant plows heading down the road. Hearing a random Christmas song on Cities 97 while driving to work. Ah the familiar feels so good. Listening to a lot of old Music lately inspired By my Best guy Friend Jeff and I's 20 something mix tapes:) A lot of Boy's Life, The Appleseed Cast and Promise... Continue reading

All the single ladies... OK and Gents too. This post is for you. I first heard about this via one of my favorite podcast subscriptions, The Lively Show. Jess the host is all about keeping it real and living with oodles of intention. Never a bad thing right? Especially when it comes to finding the One. We all know it doesn't come easy for most. Including myself. Especially when life happens and being individuals who all carry around our own fair share of quirks, issues and baggage. Some Good, Bad or Straight-up ugly. But, with that said their is hope... Continue reading

Just Now: The Morning Sun is beating down on my face as I sit on my Best Friend and her husbands patio as I write this post. And I am enjoying every little warmth of that sun until it 'disappears' with winter in Minnesota. Loving all the fall colors, Autumn makes my heart so happy. Hence laying in the green grass yesterday surrounded by harvest gold leaves and my best friends dog Searge'(isn't that a cool name:) Listening to Shut up and Dance by Walk the Moon on repeat. Thinking often of someone I left behind in Austin, wishing that... Continue reading

*Me and my favorite Yeti Coolers Bear Proof t-shirt. ATX born company. The weather is getting chilly here in Minnesota and I love everything about it. But, after two years away... I have forgotten the charm of layering my beloved cozy t-shirts under sweaters. And now it is a mild obsession again. Here is my current favorite picks from the local Minnesota MPLS/STP Clothing company. 1. I have been to Duluth. I love this throwback to one of my favorite John Candy classics. You should google that Shit:) 2. Living in the Twin Cities Minneapolis always seems to come first,... Continue reading
