Who doesn't love a great sale? No one is the correct answer. But sifting through all those deals either in stores or online can easily find you spending a lot more money than you planned or can afford to spend. There a few key tips to remember when maneuvering through the sales and coming out with great deals you can actually use and won't regret later. Make a Budget and Stick to It Does this sound like you? You start out looking for the perfect pair of jeans for about $50 and you end up buying a pair marked down... Continue reading

This lovely gray sheath hails from for $129.99 (Note other colors may be $188.) When paired with gray tights, a tan jacket, eye-popping accessories, this versatile dress is ready for work. The python embossed tote is a star on it's own. But the double-platform heels in a beautiful coral suede color are sure to steal the show. Normally I'm not a fan of the exaggerated, high platform but this pair is just stunning! Items featured can be found at: Waterfall Jacket - Topshop $120, Python-embossed Tote - Lord and Taylor $228, Double-platform Pumps - Topshop $124, Gray Tights -... Continue reading

Happy New Year! With the start of any new year brings fresh perspective. And lately I've been thinking a lot about how to hit the refresh button on this very site. There's a ridiculous amount of content online these days. And I really want to add value to the bunch and not just a bunch of noise. (We have reality tv for that, right.) I've been writing this blog for almost 5 years. (The stylenosh anniversary is in like 3 weeks!) And I think it's time to upgrade not only the look and feel of the site but also what... I love a good compilation video. And with it being the end of one year/the start of the next, get ready to see plenty of these videos cropping up. This one comes from the Today Show and Glamour mag Editor-in-Chief, Cindi Leive. So, what's my favorite trend of the year? I have to say it's color. Or more specifically, mixing colors and patterns. It was the best method I found to extend the wear of the items already hanging in your closet. And that's always a "do". Well, farewell 2011 and all it's good and sometimes horrific trends. Bring on... Continue reading

Gogeda, thanks for leaving a comment! I purchased that belt from H&M a few years ago. One of my friends liked it so much, I gave it to her a few days after wearing it. :)
I love all of the looks on this video by Yahoo's The Thread. I think I'll most likely combine the Edgy Bold and Casual Cool outfits. I'm thinking red pants and something sparkly. (Note to self: Pack red pants.) What are you wearing this holiday season while hanging out with family and friends? Continue reading

I'm so excited! I love the end of the year. There's so much promise and adventure for the upcoming year and I can't wait to dive in! Here's what I wore during my last week in the office. Woo-hoo! MONDAY I thought I'd brighten up this mostly black outfit with a little pink. TUESDAY This light weight cardigan was the perfect complement to this warm weather inspired look. I snagged the cardigan at Goodwill for under $5. Sweet! WEDNESDAY Today was a "get dressed quick" day so I grabbed...a suit! Easy peasy. THURSDAY This was my look for the holiday... Continue reading

You know it's a good Today Show segment when they use the phrase hoochie mama and Cosby sweater in a five minute span. I love it! August Deed, definitely pull out your sleeveless and backless tops for the holiday season. I think many of us grew up with those "no white after Labor Day" rules but today's fashion cues say we can leave those ideas (thankfully) in the past. You know I don't believe in buying outfits for special occasions but I surely believe in picking up an item or two if it's 1. at a fantastic price and 2. can be worn next year too. Those items are usually great wardrobe builders. :) I love the dressed up hotpants idea like the gold I showed a couple of weeks ago. If nothing else, they keep me motivated to keep hitting boot camp hard. LOL
Hey August Deed! I just saw your comment. It was buried in all the spam. :) Whoa! 6 parties before Christmas! I don't blame you for recycling your outfits. You've got the right idea. Take a piece or two and add something to it to give it a different look. Money stays in your pocket and you look fantastic at every event. I love it! Now, try not to overdue it at these parties. You're going to need a vacation after all of this celebrating. :)
Woo-hoo! Only one more week in the office and it's time to relax. (As much as you can relax when your visiting your family for the holidays.) Here's my latest week of work wardrobe outfits. With the temperatures still flucuating, it's a little bit warm fall and a little bit crap it's cold outside. MONDAY A warm, fall day. Yay! The lovely weather gave me a chance to wear this strapless dress with this print shirt on top. And of course, I had to add the skinny, snakeskin belt. TUESDAY The cloudy day made this outfit look way too shiny.... Continue reading

Alright, I'll say it. Some people are just extremely annoying to buy gifts for. You buy them something pink. They wanted green. You snagged an iPad. Woo-hoo! They wanted a Macbook Air. What the??? Anyhoo, you get the point. These picky people get on your nerves. But you love them so you continue to search for the perfect gift. Enter this clip from the Today Show which contains some pretty good ideas on what to buy for those people. Freaking ingrates. Some people feel like the have to shop for a new dress or fancy new shoes for the holiday party season. I'm not a fan of buying stuff for special occasions. A good solid wardrobe should already have the pieces in it to accommodate just about every situation that may come your way. When it's time to hit the holiday party circuit (I feel like we should start training a month ahead to prepare for this time of year), I head start to my closet and not the mall, to put together a look or two that will work for... Looking back on this week's wardrobe I realized, I pretty much unintentionally wore the same concept all week. But that's a good thing because I emphasized one of my greatest assest: my small waist. What's your greatest assest? What's the thing that you always get compliments on? Dress around that. MONDAY I clearly don't look rested on this pic. Must get proper amount of sleep! Anyhoo, I have a lot of pattern on in this outfit. Polka-dots, pinstripes, and a black snake-skin belt. Is it too much pattern at once? I don't think so. Push things. Shake it up. If... Every year we grapple with what to wear to all those holiday parties we're invited to. Well here are some not black dress options that won't bore you to tears. Fall is my season. I love the leaves and crisp breeze. And I adore the layering of clothes. I think it's fun to transform items that you've worn in one season and give them new life in another. You'll see several of those clothes experiencing a fall rebirth in this week's wardrobe. MONDAY No, I didn't cut my hair. It's just freshly twisted. I just realized that I look bigger than I actually am on this picture. It makes sense because both the jacket and skirt are too large. And clothes that are too big have the undesirable effect of... Don't you just love fall? It's such a wonderful mix of (mostly) warm days and cool nights. Ahh, fall. My work wardrobe perfectly reflects this dichotomy. I started the week in skirts with no hosiery. And I ended the week in pants and socks. Are the warm temps gone 'til next year? I guess we'll have to see what next week brings. Have an awesome weekend! MONDAY I received a lot of compliments on this simple, work outfit. A button-down shirt, a pencil skirt, and heels. That's it. I was told, "You're dressed like normal people today."
