What fabulous colors and combos! I've been wanting to do the Color Affection shawl. But option 5 or 6? I can't decide!
Oo, almost 45 years now. Learned crochet from one of my Girl Scout mothers and my neighbor. My grandmother attempted to teach me to knit, but she hadn't knitted in over 40 years so it was a most interesting experience. I don't really remember who helped me after her. I've become addicted to socks now, although I still have at least one other larger project, usually shawls, but the occasional afghan or sweater.

This is a very hard question - I've read and listened to so many books this year. The Stieg Larsson books are incredible. But Michaeal Connelly's Harry Bosch and Mickey Haller books are so good too (love the audiobooks - Len Cariou and Peter Giles are such good narrators). And John Sandford's Lucas Davenport and Virgil Flowers AKA That F***ing Flowers (also well narrated by Richard Ferrone and Eric Conger) are also a treat. And for sheer wackiness, there is Christopher Moore and Tim Dorsey.

No organization to my stash whatsoever. My friends want me to organize it and get it onto Ravelry, but not ready to tackle it yet. I have bags of yarn in almost every room of the house (but not the bathrooms).

The only KAL I actually participated in this year was the Skacel anniversary KAL from Knitpurlhunter. I really wanted to win the trip to Seattle. Alas, i didn't win anything, but my friends scored mittens and socks.

My friend Mary gave me a crocheted hat one year. She died a few months later and I treasure it as the last gift she made me. I so miss her comments on life.

No,I don't decorate a tree due to allergies. I do make ornaments occasionally and give them away.

No, I haven't done it but have been considering it since my feet have been cold this year. That Lorna's Lace 4-ply looks interesting.
I want to relearn double knitting and work harded on Continental knitting.

I made 4 baby blankets this year - 2 for friends' grandchildren and 2 for friends' nieces.

Hard to say. I've done a couple of hats, both of which need blocking, fingerless gloves, and am going to be starting a double knit scarf. No links, alas, to pictures.

Another long time customer thoroughly disgusted. If it weren't for the fact that so many of the movies in my queue are not available locally in libraries, I would dump the whole thing now. I've watched my DVD queue move items nearly daily to the Saved section because they won't buy replacements. More of the items now have Short Wait in the Availability column. They've neglected DVDs for streaming which still sucks. Hulu has better streaming - the quality is better and they have more items with CC. But streaming still is NOT comparable to DVD quality. And with my ISP placing limits on usage, the emphasis on streaming is problematic. And games? Why don't they just buy Gamefly and maintain it separately too? I don't need my DVD money going to buy games (which I will NEVER borrow). They're spending less and less on DVDs and now they'll be buying games instead. What drugs are they ingesting there at Netflix?
They've quit caring. Yes, it's all about the stockholders. They have become a soulless greedy corporation. Plus I've looked at my account and I can't figure out what I'll be paying come September. I will most likely be dropping streaming though. Hulu Plus has better service and more closed captioning.
I still much prefer discs over streaming. Why? The biggest issue is closed captioning and subtitles - very few of the streaming has this ability. I love streaming on Hulu - they have a lot more CC available. Visual quality is frequently poor - cable internet is our only option and it's not fast. For whatever reason, Netflix is less forgiving than Hulu. And I swear that half the streaming is from videotapes, not DVD quality, let alone Blu-ray quality. Lack of special feature access. So streaming is fine for some things and I really hate that Netflix is pouring all its money into that instead of maintaining their DVD library. Almost one-third of my queue is now items that were moved to Saved because they won't buy more copies. Or can't because they are now out-of-print.
Ive been asking for this for years. Why keep recommending the same DVDs to me that I already own? Amazon hs this feature - why can't Netflix?
