The POOF! Oh nooooo! That was no doubt horrifying at the time but hey, now it makes for a terrific story and a funny scene in a potential upcoming movie. Just tell French Husband that. All these requests are research material for a future book (which I've always thought you should write, btw. Seriously. A book. A screenplay).
And They Lived Happily by the End of the Day
The word handyman and the husband that is French do not get along. If there is one thing I could change it would be that, and his long need for silence. To make matters even more interesting that man who is French does not like anyone to do things that need to be done. So hiring a handyman i...
Awww...so sweet and BRAVE! I would have been panicking big time!
And look where you are now...living and writing in Provence with French Husband and two beautiful kids. Two bare hip hip hurrays for Nudist Beaches!!!
Our First Date Back in 1986
When you are falling in love with someone the whole wide world goes technicolor. Everything seems electrified, your feet literally do not the ground. Yes when one is falling in love nothing remains the same. The daily routine, the bad hair days, and even your split ends become a cornucopia of...
Oh wow, eb. This is beautiful! The vibrant orange and red next to the muted brown and grey... The white stitching looks so soft - like the seeds of milkweed in the fall.
blankie bliss...
happy with test runs on the blankies... xox - eb.
Thank you, Colette. I'm glad to be back home. I'm in the process of getting my blog up and running again - just need a new, updated look. I'll be visiting you in a moment.

Awww, thank you, Ulla. YOU were one of the people who inspired me to start blogging in the first place. I WILL be back. I'm still settling into work but I do plan on returning with a new look for this blog, a new website, and hopefully even an etsy shop.
I hope life is treating you well and that creativity is visiting you on a regular basis. I'm always inspired by your creations, Ulla.

Aw, thank you, Marilyn. Yes, I've met some pretty amazing people who participated in the winged messenger project. This particular story had me in tears, too.
Thank you for visiting my blog. I'm actually taking a bit of a break from the blog as my husband and I recently moved to Canada from the States and we are still settling in. So I apologize for my late response to your comment.
November 20, 2011: Winged Messengers for Karri
For the last few years, I have collaborated with blog readers on a public art project called the Winged Messengers, where positive messages are written on the front of painted, paper winged envelopes and are then left in public places for strangers to find. It is so interesting to learn afterwa...

That would be fun! C'mon over! An encaustic artist date would be fun, wouldn't it? We could learn from each other.
I hope you had a terrific Memorial Day weekend and that this week is off to a good start. Thanks for the cheerful comment this afternoon, Jennifer. :)

Happy Memorial Day to my family and friends living in the U.S.! I hope you are all having a fun and relaxing holiday weekend. It's been absolutely beautiful here in N.J. Blue skies and warm weather - perfect for pouring a tall glass of iced tea and painting on the balcony. I recently began...

Hey my friend,
Thank you for not giving up on leaving comments. I don't know why I keep having issues with people leaving comments...argh!
Yes, I'm soooo happy that my mom is writing stories from her life. She's really enjoying the class, too. I think it would be great if all senior's centers offered this course. In any case, I'm preparing to write another blog post about the story she read to me yesterday. It's about a game of DARE she played with her siblings. I can't believe my nana let them play it! It deserves its own post!
March 29, 2012: The Door in the Hill
Last week, J and I drove up to Canada for a week-long visit with our families. While he spent most of the time with his parents, I went on to stay with my mom to help her prepare for an upcoming move. Figuring out what to keep, donate or throw out can take so much time and be emotionally exha...
