Thank you, that's very decent of you. I will try and make it bigger and see what the printers say.

Europe must feature prominently in the Election campaign
I know the Party hierarchy didn't want it to. I know they (wrongly) regarded it as a distraction. I know they hoped to rest on the substance of their excellent European policy, believing (vainly) that the Party would be patient with them and they wouldn't have to deal with the issue for five o...
Never mind. There's always one. That's why we have so many stupid equality statutes now. Everyone is offended about something. Bunch of wimps. Grow up.
I am totally offended with being forced into the EU too.
Have you got the original? I'd like a TShirt made too :)

Steve, it's refreshing to hear someone tell the truth. Why on earth aren't they listening to you?

"evidence is that a majority of the electorate would vote to continue in membership".. I beg to differ John. The only way that will happen is if the EU decide to spend millions on advertising, brainwashing and threatening people with potential isolation trade and job wise.
Most of us don't want to be in the EU!
Should Conservatives be worried about the opinion polls?
There is a softening of our support. We are now below 40% in most polls. I suspect the post-Lisbon policy was key. Less important was the substance of the issue (Europe). More important was the unfair perception that Cameron broke a promise (Trust). The Daily Mail hammered Cameron very hard on t...
You must be living in a nice suburban area then Francis. I have been forced to move twice because of "diversity and crime"... for the sake of my children.
Luckily we live in democracy so far, so we are all still entitled to our opinions.
Free speech is one thing that is being eroded because of diversity.
Perhaps if "diversity" had been controlled, the benefits queues wouldn't be quite so lengthy.
Infact, if we had been a little more choosy about who we let in, we wouldn't be having half the problems we are now.
Promoting diversity, protecting tradition
There are two aspects of our country and its values which I believe we should defend vigorously, because both are under threat. They may at first appear contradictory, but they are not. One reinforces the other. The first is diversity, the second is tradition. I thrive on diversity. I would find...
Diversity has become my least favourite word in the dictionary.
British Tradition is more important than protecting diversity. Those that wish to reside amongst us must respect our customs and traditions.
Diversity and the subsequent "equality rubbish" has managed to make British people feel they are the least important in the queue for almost anything!

Thank goodness everyone doesn't think like you Patsy or we would all end up living on airstrip one, catalogued, chipped and constantly paranoid!
I can only assume you are not old enough to remember what living in a free country actually felt like. I can.
Is it selfish to want to live in a democracy? Is it selfish to want my children and grandchildren to live in country where they have a say in how their country is governed?
I don't want to be IN Europe, but part of it!
I don't want to be ruled by faceless unelected bureaucrats that don't know the first thing about me but what they think is good for me!
Do you know how many people have fought and died for the freedoms that were so easily signed away?
It's our right as freeborn Britons! I have NOT BEEN ASKED IF I CONSENT TO THIS. Do you understand the implications of that phrase?
I actually have read the self amending undemocratic treaty, have you? Do you understand what is happening? If you did, you wouldn't be so nonchalant.
Don't wait for Cameron, he won't help you.
"And gentlemen in England now-a-bed,
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day".

What have churches got to with it? Most churches have been there for years and are in keeping with the culture, history and architecture of the areas they are built in.
The minarets are a new build and yes, people should be consulted about the public buildings that are going up in their towns, especially if they are being built with taxpayers money!
But then, you are a leftie and don't believe the peasants should have a say. No wonder everyone has lost interest in politics. They don't get asked!
Exit polls say Swiss have voted to ban the building of minarets in Switzerland
So say exit polls in what will be the biggest sign yet of Europe's fears at 'Islamification'. Minarets have been likened to missiles in a distasteful and inflammatory poster campaign: ITN produced this background report earlier before the vote was known:
No, I want a leader who will by "hook or by crook" find a way to give us the referendum we were promised. I want a leader who puts US FIRST! That's what they get paid to do, represent us.
Please don't patronise me, the political elite have shown us in the last 20 years (labour and tory sleaze) that if there is something they want done, whether it be illegal, underhand, immoral or simply corrupt, they will find a way (ask Mandy).
They have got twisting the truth, breaking rules and changing the law in their favour down to a fine art.
The only difference here is that this is something for US!
The simple truth of the matter is Cameron wants in on the EU. Why, because the politicians are still intent on lining their own pockets instead of representing us!
They're still waiting for the plum jobs when our country is divided up into regions and they won't have to worry about what we think anymore because they can simply blame everything on the EU...
Let's face it, if we did have a referendum and the result was a resounding YES... the politicians would have to get off their mink lined knickers and actually work for their pay packets like the rest of us have to!

I agree with you Andrea.
Such a pity that "key" conservatives aren't reading the comments, especially Mr Cameron who seems as out of touch as the rest of them.
I was a traditional conservative too. I have never voted for another party but I am having serious doubts as to whether any ruling party will actually be in charge next year.
It's absolutely no good saying "don't blame Dave for the referendum".. I don't care whose to blame.
I want a leader to stand up for us, someone to turn to the EU and tell them that the signing of the Lisbon Treaty was illegal and therefore void in its present form, as we were promised a referendum.
I want a leader to stand up for us and say "hang on a minute, this climate gate stuff has to be investigated before we start ripping the electorate off with more green taxes"..
I want a leader to stand up for us and say, we will return power back to the electorate. We will ask you when we take a major decision in the future.
This is our country too... and I am fed up with being told what to do and how to think by greedy, power hungry, corrupt politicians.

Have you been to Bury Park? It most certainly is Muslim! A friend of mine recently moved from there to a "less Muslim area" as she was continually being told that Luton was now a Muslim town and she should leave!
Sayeeda Warsi confronts Muslim extremists after they pelt her with eggs
Baroness Warsi had been visiting Luton when the male protestors accused her of not being a proper Muslim. She tried to argue with them but they would not let her speak. Later, with other Muslims, she said that her assailants were as much the authentic voice of Islam as Nick Griffin was a repre...
Minarets are not necessary for Muslim worship. They also do not fit in with West European architecture.
All that aside though, the referendum was a democratic decision. The Swiss are lucky they have been asked to vote on something. We only matter during election time it seems!
Tomorrow our sovereignty is dead and many of our rights and freedoms have been stolen without our consent and passed to faceless, unelected bureaucrats in Brussels.
I am extremely angry! I would like a referendum please.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could too?

Who really cares? Please, there are more important things happening such as our diminishing democratic voice and our country being swallowed into a giant dictatorship!
WE WANT AN IN/OUT REFERENDUM!
Are double-barrelled names a problem for Tory candidates?
The Mail on Sunday reports that David Cameron thinks they might be. The Conservative leader jokingly encouraged Annunziata Rees-Mogg (our Somerton & Frome candidate who recently wrote a diary for ConHome), to change her double-barrelled name to Nancy Mogg: "Mr Cameron told her: ‘Wouldn’t it be...
Presumably the Conservatives will be signing up to this too!
Still no comment from Mr Cameron on climategate? What about a comment on the extremely controversial Sarkozy quotes and subsequent "muscling in" on the commonwealth summit?
How many billions are we about to give away to developing nations to spend on climate change?
Andrew Bolt is asking the question in Australia. The National Post is asking the question in Canada. Commonwealth leaders have signed up to a $10bn annual fund to help developing nations address climate change. It's not clear who will be paying what share. It's not clear if this will be instead ...
May I just say what a complete waste of time this website is! You ask for people's opinions and comments on a subject and then go ahead and completely ignore everyone.
The climate change fiasco is a prime example. No comments at all and a continuing push of current dodgy propaganda at Copenhagen!
Does David Cameron or his team even bother to read and analyse what the general consensus is amongst us peasants?
Don't the wishes of the majority mean anything to the Conservatives anymore?
Please let me know if you have ceased to be a democratic party and I will ensure that I don't ever vote for you again!
Howard Flight: It is time we talked about Labour's damage to Britain

The question is, if you know all this, why doesn't Mr Cameron et al? It would serve them well to address all these issues and not sweep them under the carpet. They are the main issues that everyone is talking about on the street but not in politics!

We are on the same side. I just happen to believe that charity should come from a voluntary source or charity fund, that's all.
I realise there are people who are doing good stuff.
I just don't think that charity funding should be a compulsory part of paying tax.
It's just not democratic. If I choose to give to a charity, it will be one of my choice, not one the government deems fit.

Mr Warren, I want what most people in democracy want. A referendum on whether we stay in the EU or not.
Pure, simple democracy.

Perhaps the government should change the name of the sums of taxpayers money they so happily give away to "Taxpayer Funding".
As Gordon Brown said at Cockermouth, we are giving you £1million of government money!
Er sorry, it's not government money, it's the generous taxpayers! So why not just say who has gifted it?

It goes for charities in general Steve, especially ones which fund stupid things involving "equality and minority" issues.
Charities used to be run by people who did things voluntarily and were funded by good natured people who expected nothing in return.
Charities these days (all of them) expect funding.
Most of them pay people in charge of the money huge salaries and the money is often squandered on a minority of people.
Charities were originally set up to help the "needy".. not to fund lawyers, spin statistics and generally bully the people who pay for them!
We shouldn't be funding "faith communities" at all, that is for their congregation to do!

"The Iranian government announced last year that it was in talks with 'several British universities' in order to fund Islamic studies programmes which would 'train and educate experts on Islam'. It barely needs pointing out that the Iranian government's understandings of Islam have not been working out too well for those being forced to live under it",
We shouldn´t be encouraging Islamic or any other political system that does not reflect democracy in the UK. Don´t we have enough of a dictatorship to cope with as it is with the EU?
If people want to study Islam there are plenty of opportunities in some fantastic Islamic countries. There they can learn the political system and follow the religious teachings completely. What better way to immerse yourself.
An Iranian education
The merits of Columbia University hosting Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in 2007 have always been somewhat dubious. So it is interesting that it has now emerged that the university was paid $100,000 by the Alavi Foundation, an alleged Iranian front group, two months before agreeing to host the dictator. Th...
Ah but he won´t oldrightie because the conservatives are sadly lacking in the cojones department.
The electorate want to vote for a party that will put the wishes of the people first. Sadly they think they know what´s best for us and we won´t be asked our opinion on anything at all once they have got into power.
Democracy is dead! This lot are NuTory (NuLabour Mark II).

God help us, failing that, give us our referendum please. It is our democratic right after all.. nobody asked me if I wanted to join a totalitarian society..
