Today is an “old is new” day for the Impression Obsession team, where we feature older products in the Impression Obsession catalog. We hope you're inspired! I created a card using Penguin Wreath and a sentiment from Holiday Words. The penguin is stamped on a watercolor paper circle I made using one of the layers from Wacky Stitched Circles. I colored the image with water based marker pigments, and added red gems to the wreath for a bit of sparkle and shine. A quick and easy card, ready to send holiday greetings to someone special. Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Be sure to pop over to the Impression Obsession Blog for a full list of the designers participating in today’s inspiration! Continue reading

A new challenge is being shared today on the Impression Obsession Blog, and I hope you join the fun! This week’s challenge is Harvest Treats (fruits, veggies, pumpkins). Pull out your Impression Obsession stamps and/or dies, and join us! For my card I used Sketched Pear, a lovely pear if there ever was one! The background layer is stamped with Newsprint cover-a-card, and inked up to make it aged and loved. The pear is stamped on watercolor paper, colored with watercolor pigments. Over the pear I stamped a text block randomly, several times, and finally added the embrace life sentiment using the Express Yourself clear set on a Pinked Stitched Sentiment Banner die cut. Love that one! Find all the details on this week’s challenge on the Impression Obsession Blog. Continue reading

The Impression Obsession design team is featuring dies as the main focus for our inspiration projects today. I made a card using Large Frame (which is, in my opinion, a must-have die!), and the Tea & Cocoa mug set. I cut the mug several times from heavyweight white cardstock, and several times from various pieces of printed patterned papers. I adhered the patterned papers to the white cardstock pieces, so the cups are nice and sturdy. I stacked the cups together, and adhered them to the card using foam adhesive. I added a twine bow dressed up with a cute small button, made using one of the buttons from Button Card. Check the Impression Obsession blog for a list of designers providing inspiration today! Fill a mug with hot tea, coffee, cocoa or cider, and I’m happy! Give me crafty time too, and oooooh goodie! The background of the card is made with Large Frame with the frame from Crazy Stitched Set layered on top, cut from different patterned papers. The Tea & Cocoa mug is cut from heavyweight white cardstock and patterned paper, topped with cream cut from white wool felt. I just love the added stitching detail on the mug! I added a cute little red heart cut from wool felt, as well. I dressed the mug up with a die cut button and some holly leaves. The button is from the Sewing Accessories die set, the holly is from the Primitive Candy Cane & Holly die set, and the little candy cane stuck in the whipped cream was made with the candy cane included in the Stocking die set. Once the card was finished, I gave it a quick spray with glitter spray, for lots of sparkle and shine! Frame and mug printed papers are from Authentique’s Jingle line. Super cute! The green paper I used for the holly is from an American Crafts 6x6, but I don’t recall the series name. It was a scrap, put to good use. Continue reading

Today is World Cardmaking Day, and I’ve got this little cutie to share with you. Dressed in a candy maker’s dress, she’s ready to deliver sweets and happiness to someone special. The background of the card is made with Large Frame, cut from two different patterned papers. The ginger girl is cut from kraft cardstock and inked for a bit of flavor, using the Primitive Gingerbread die set. Her dress is from the Gingerbread Accessories die set. The candy canes are made from the accessories included in the Stocking die set. All printed papers are from Authentique’s Jingle line. Super cute! Are you taking some time to be crafty today? A new challenge is being shared today on the Impression Obsession Blog, and I hope you join the fun! This week’s challenge is Halloween or Fall Colors. Pull out your Impression Obsession stamps and/or dies, and join us! The project I made for the challenge uses several Impression Obsession dies. I started by setting the scene with Three Trees Background, die cut from heavyweight black cardstock. I nestled the moon from Two Kitties behind the trees. The Ghost is cut from heavyweight white cardstock, and silver glitter cardstock, layered together and slightly off-set to create a sparkly drop shadow. Boo is cut from purple glitter cardstock and black foam for a bit of dimension. Find all the details on how to enter this week's challenge on the Impression Obsession Blog. I hope you join us! The Impression Obsession design team is featuring dies as the main focus for our inspiration projects today. I made a square card using Quilted Bell. I cut the die several times - once from black cardstock, once from gold glitter cardstock, and from several pieces of printed paper. I selected the printed papers I wanted to use in each area, inked the edges a smidge, and adhered them into place. Just like putting together a puzzle! A new challenge is being shared today on the Impression Obsession Blog, and I hope you join the fun! This week’s challenge is Pumpkin Spice. Pull out your Impression Obsession stamps and/or dies, and join us! The project I made for the challenge uses several Impression Obsession products. This embellishment is made with the Large Snowman, Snowman Accessories, and one of the Two Kitties. I cut the shapes from thin foam board. The kitty and accessories are colored with markers and their edges are lightly inked with brown ink. The snowman is also cut from thin foam board. I folksied (going with it) him up with brown ink, and added a bit of water splashes for visual texture. I stamped French Script over his body, for even more visual texture! I colored his eyes, nose, and arms with markers and adhered them in place. Find all the details on how to enter this week's challenge on the Impression Obsession Blog. I hope you join us! Bonus inspiration share, inspired by two projects I made several years ago that remain my most pinned projects on Pinterest (links below). This tag is made with the Large Snowman and Snowman Accessories die sets from Impression Obsession. I die cut the snowman from a piece of heavyweight cardstock, and a piece of music paper designer patterned paper and adhered them together. I inked the edges a bit with brown ink. I die cut the accessories from heavyweight cardstock and colored the pieces with markers. I cut the hat from black glitter cardstock, for a bit of pizzazz! Today is the second day of a two day Winter Die Release Celebration, and I hope you enjoy the inspiration! All of the new dies you see on our celebration posts yesterday and today are available now on the Impression Obsession website. The first project I am sharing today is a no-sew ornament that features Small Snowman (DIE899-Q). I cut the snowman and all of his accessories from felt. I used the largest Scalloped Stitched Circle (DIE831-YY) to cut a base layer in black felt to give him a base to sit on, and topped it with a Wacky Stitched Circle (DIE837-YY) cut from a country blue acrylic felt. I added a snowdrift by cutting another Wacky Stitched Circle, and cutting a top edge with the gentle rolling wave die from Wave Edges (DIE838-V). The pieces are all adhered together with just thin lines of white glue. It doesn’t take much! You don’t want the glue pressing through the felt, but there needs to be enough there to hold the felt in place. Tip: Wool felt, or wool-blend felt works the best when cutting with thin metal dies. However, you can use acrylic felt if you place a piece of paper between the felt and the cutting pad to keep the fibers of the acrylic felt from pushing down into your cutting plate during the cutting process. This entire project, with exception of the carrot nose, is made from acrylic felt. The nose is cut from wool felt, only because that’s the felt I have in the color orange. This would make a great gift for neighbor, tag on a package, tree ornament, or even a cute little decor item hung from the knob of a china hutch or wardrobe. Speaking of tags, the next project I’m sharing features Plaid Tag (DIE868-Z), one of the mugs from Coffee & Cocoa (DIE882-V), the heart from Sewing Accessories (DIE871-Z), and a button from Button Card (DIE853-V). To create the tag, I die cut the base layer of the tag from heavyweight white cardstock and some cute pink gingham cardstock and adhered them together. I cut the embossed layer of the tag from some sweet daisy designer paper and adhered it to the top of the tag. I cut the little button and the mug from Kraft cardstock, and colored the coffee/tea area with a brown marker. The heart is cut from watercolor paper. I inked the edges of all the bits with a warm, brown ink, and adhered the layers all together, and topped the tag with some pretty ribbon and a twine bow. Find all the details on this exciting release on the Impression Obsession Blog. Impression Obsession will be giving away one $25 gift certificate for each of the designers participating in this release. Winners will be drawn at random from comments left on all Winter Die Release posts. Find all of the details about the give-away on the Impression Obsession blog. I’m excited! It’s Winter Die Release time for Impression Obsession, and that means I have new dies to share with you! I hope you enjoy the new dies in this release, welcome some of them into your stash, and make all kinds of wonderful crafty creations with them. Impression Obsession’s dies are made in the USA with high-quality US steel, and designed by me! Today is the first day of a two day Winter Die Release Celebration, and I hope you enjoy the inspiration! All of the new dies you see on our celebration posts today and tomorrow are available now on the Impression Obsession website. The first project I am sharing features two dies from the release. Two Folk Deer (DIE904-O) and Aspen & Pine Forest (DIE879-YY). I cut Aspen & Pine Forest from a piece of hot press watercolor paper, and inked the die cut image with various colors of brown and green inks. I also cut Two Folk Deer and their accessory pieces from hot press watercolor paper and inked the layers a bit. I added antlers to the fella, and a bell to the doe. After I inked up a base layer of hot press watercolor paper with some blue and turquoise inks, I sprinkled the inked layer with water and dabbed up the water droplets. That lifted a bit of the color, leaving a pretty, mottled background. I adhered the Aspen & Pine Forest over the blue background, and adhered the deer in place. I love it! The Aspen & Pine Forest would be so pretty done with glitter for sparkle and shine! The next project I’m sharing features Chunky Candle (DIE881-L), Primitive Snowflakes (DIE893-YY), the holly from Primitive Candy Cane & Holly (DIE894-U), a button from Button Card (DIE853-V), and Large Frame (DIE860-WW). To create the candle, I die cut all of the pieces of the candle from heavyweight white cardstock. I colored the pieces with alcohol markers and inked the edges to add a bit with a warm, brown ink. I added one of the snowflakes from Primitive Snowflakes as a decorative element to the candle. I added a bit of glitter glue to the flame of the candle. The holly is cut from two colors of green cardstock and the edges were inked a bit with brown ink. I cut one of the small buttons from the Button Card set, threaded it with twine, and adhered it in place. The background of the card is framed with the Large Frame die. I really love the Large Frame die. I’ve seen it used on a lot of projects made by others, and it always looks terrific — a must have! Find all the details on this exciting release on the Impression Obsession Blog. Impression Obsession will be giving away one $25 gift certificate for each of the designers participating in this release. Hi friends! Just a quick little note to say hi.... No lion. See what I did there? Haaa! The Hi die and the cute Lion die are both from my recently released fall dies for Impression Obsession. I die cut the lion from heavyweight card stock and inked the layers with various colors of brown ink. I added Glossy Accents to his eyes and nose for a bit of shine. I think he’s cute as a button! What do you think of the die designs I’ve released with Impression Obsession? Continue reading

The Impression Obsession design team is featuring dies as the main focus for our inspiration projects today. I made a gift card/tag using Large Pinecone. The set comes with two dies - the solid base layer, and the textured top layer. I cut the solid base layer twice, from brown cardstock. I adhered the together at the top, so they fold open like a top folding card. I then cut the textured top layer from a lighter brown cardstock, and a piece of brown foam, and adhered them to the card base. I dressed up the pinecone with several pieces of Pine Pair branches, a pretty red ribbon, hemp twine, and a silver jingle bell. A new challenge is being shared today on the Impression Obsession Blog, and I hope you join the fun! This week’s challenge is Falling Leaves. Pull out your Impression Obsession stamps and/or dies, and join us! The project I made for the challenge uses several Impression Obsession products. First, the treat holder is made with the Small Basket die. The basket die is easy to use. Use the die to cut four sides of the basket, and adhere the sides to one another along one edge. Adhere the bottom flaps in place, and fill the basket with all kinds of fun goodies! The small basket is perfectly sized for so many things — tea bags, small canning jars, sweet treats, a set of handmade tags, etc. I filled the basket with nearly an entire bag of Hershey kisses. Yum! The tag I added to the top was created with Plaid Tag, Patchwork Leaves, Handmade Label, and one of the buttons from Button Card. I used a sentiment from the clear set Gift Tags, stamped in Black Hybrid Ink, and used an orange marker to color the little heart. Find all the details on how to enter this week's challenge on the Impression Obsession Blog. I hope you join us! Continue reading

Impression Obsession snuck this cutie into the Fall die release, and I’m so glad! I couldn’t wait to create with this little guy. I will be making lots of holiday tags with him this year. I die cut Deer (DIE856-Y) from heavy weight cream cardstock and colored him up with a combination of alcohol markers and inks. He’s quick and easy to assemble, and the horns are an optional add-on. The tag is also a new release, called Stitched Tag #2 (DIE874-Y) and I love the shape and layer accessories, which are the curved banner and the fishtail hole reinforcer. I used a foliage piece from Stitched Floral Bouquet (DIE806-ZZ) for an added accent. These new dies are available today on the Impression Obsession website. Shop this weekend and enjoy 25% off your entire purchase — And good news, the new fall dies are included in the sale! Use code LABOR at checkout. Sale ends September 2, 2019 at midnight EST. I hope you enjoy the new dies in this release, welcome some of them into your stash, and make all kinds of wonderful crafty creations with them. Impression Obsessions dies are made with high-quality US steel, and some of them are designed by me! Today is the first day of a two day Fall Die Release Celebration for Impression Obsession, and I hope you enjoy the inspiration! All of the new dies you see on our celebration posts today and tomorrow are available now on the Impression Obsession website. The first project I am sharing features three dies from the release. Plaid Tag (DIE868-Z), Black-Eyed Susan (DIE851-ZZ), and one of the buttons from Button Card (DIE853-V). I cut the base of Plaid Tag from kraft colored cardstock and cut the top layer of Plaid Tag from a pretty burgundy colored cardstock, and inked the layers a bit. I cut one of the buttons from the Button Card set from watercolor paper and inked it with a pretty green ink. I cut all of the layers of the Black-Eyed Susan flower from watercolor paper and inked them with various colors of yellow, brown, and green inks. I assembled all of the pieces, layering them and adding dimension with foam adhesive and hot glue, and ooooooo, I love it! The next project I’m sharing features the same Black-Eyed Susan set (DIE851-ZZ), but uses the small tag from the Deckled Tag set (DIE855-Q) and the round base tag from Web Tag (DIE877-T). Again, I die cut the Black-Eyed Susan shapes from watercolor cardstock and inked the shapes with various colors of yellow and brown inks. I stamped Thanks (A9370) on the small Deckled Tag. I love the shape and design of this tag base. And while it comes with a web and is ideal for Halloween themed projects, but will be perfect for tags year round! Behind the flower is even a bit of wacky faux stitching. Fun! I assembled all of the pieces, layering and adding dimension with foam adhesive to create the finished tag. Picket Fence Studios has a really fun release for August, and I am happy to share a project with with you today! The card I made features The Ghouls Made Me Do It and Trick or Treaters stamp and coordinating die set. I stamped the ghouls on white cardstock with VersaMark ink and embossed then with clear embossing powder. I sprinkled the panel with Black Brusho Colourcraft powder and spritzed it with water. It’s fun to watch all of the fun colors in the powder flow and spread! The Trick or Treaters are stamped on heavy weight card stock and colored with water based pigments. I added a couple pieces of spider web doilies, sparkly kitty stickers and a “cute” little spider sticker to finish off the card. Today is an “old is new” day for the Impression Obsession team, where we feature older products in the Impression Obsession catalog. We hope you're inspired! I created a holiday gift tag for today’s challenge. On the base of the tag I stamped French Script (H9396) in brown ink. I rubbed a bit more brown ink on the tag to grunge it up a bit. The die cut deer is from the Deer Frame die (DIE737-YY). I removed the outer frame portion of the cut shape so I could use just the deer on my tag. I inked up the die cut shape and adhered him to my tag base. I dressed him up with some leaf sprigs from the Stitched Flower Bouquet set (DIE806-ZZ), itty bitty pine cones, red berries, and a hemp twine bow. I stamped Merry Christmas from the Holiday Icons (CL980) set on a Pinked Stitched Sentiment Banner (DIE814-U) and tucked the banner in place. This will make a nice addition to a gift this year! Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Be sure to pop over to the Impression Obsession blog for a full list of the designers participating in today’s inspiration! Continue reading

Today I’m part of a crafty trifecta with Picket Fence Studios, My Sweet Petunia, and Thermoweb. I used the adorable cat stamp and coordinating die from the Picket Fence Studios set, I Love Your Face. The sentiment is from the set, A Bright Night. I used gold Thermoweb Deco Foil to create a colorful foiled background for my card. The foil is adhered to the tacky surface of alcohol ink before it completely dried. I used my mini MISTI to position the sentiment at the bottom of the card base, and stamp it multiple times for a perfect impression. Visit each of the company blogs for a complete list of designers participating in today’s crafty trifecta and to learn the details about their giveaways. The background was created by embossing a sheet of paper with Fool’s Gold Embossing Glitter (WS80R). I then cut the embossed sheet into strips, and adhered to another sheet of paper, and die cut into a rectangle. Thanks for visiting me today!
