Picket Fence Studios has a really fun release for August, and I am happy to share a project with with you today! The card I made features The Ghouls Made Me Do It and Trick or Treaters stamp and coordinating die set. I stamped the ghouls on white cardstock with VersaMark ink and embossed then with clear embossing powder. I sprinkled the panel with Black Brusho Colourcraft powder and spritzed it with water. It’s fun to watch all of the fun colors in the powder flow and spread! The Trick or Treaters are stamped on heavy weight card stock and colored with water based pigments. I added a couple pieces of spider web doilies, sparkly kitty stickers and a “cute” little spider sticker to finish off the card. Check out the Picket Fence Studios website for this months full release. Continue reading

Today is an “old is new” day for the Impression Obsession team, where we feature older products in the Impression Obsession catalog. We hope you're inspired! I created a holiday gift tag for today’s challenge. On the base of the tag I stamped French Script (H9396) in brown ink. I rubbed a bit more brown ink on the tag to grunge it up a bit. The die cut deer is from the Deer Frame die (DIE737-YY). I removed the outer frame portion of the cut shape so I could use just the deer on my tag. I inked up the die cut shape and adhered him to my tag base. I dressed him up with some leaf sprigs from the Stitched Flower Bouquet set (DIE806-ZZ), itty bitty pine cones, red berries, and a hemp twine bow. I stamped Merry Christmas from the Holiday Icons (CL980) set on a Pinked Stitched Sentiment Banner (DIE814-U) and tucked the banner in place. This will make a nice addition to a gift this year! Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Be sure to pop over to the Impression Obsession blog for a full list of the designers participating in today’s inspiration! Continue reading

A new challenge is being shared today on the Impression Obsession Blog, and I hope you join the fun! This week’s challenge is Moody Blues. Pull out your Impression Obsession stamps and/or dies, and join us! The card I created for the challenge uses the adorable Heinz (G12086), Flower Pop Background (SS-1316-L), and “Holiday Hugs” - a sentiment from the Merry Mail set (CL968). Heinz is stamped in archival ink on watercolor paper and painted with water based pigments. I die cut the painted image with one of the Wacky Stitched Circle (DIE837-YY) layers, and adhered it to a Scalloped Stitched Circle (DIE831-YY) layer. Flower Pop Background is stamped on the base of the card in Sky Blue Hybrid Ink. Holiday Hugs is stamped on a Pinked Stitched Sentiment Banner (DIE814-U), and tucked underneath a couple of Pine Sprig (DIE097-M) die cuts, and a Jingle Bell (DIE759-E) that I cut from gold foil paper. Look at that face — what a cutie! A blue ribbon bow topped with a cute little red button finish it off. Find all the details on how to enter this week's challenge on the Impression Obsession Blog. Today I’m part of a crafty trifecta with Picket Fence Studios, My Sweet Petunia, and Thermoweb. I used the adorable cat stamp and coordinating die from the Picket Fence Studios set, I Love Your Face. The sentiment is from the set, A Bright Night. I used gold Thermoweb Deco Foil to create a colorful foiled background for my card. The foil is adhered to the tacky surface of alcohol ink before it completely dried. I used my mini MISTI to position the sentiment at the bottom of the card base, and stamp it multiple times for a perfect impression. Visit each of the company blogs for a complete list of designers participating in today’s crafty trifecta and to learn the details about their giveaways. I’ve provided a link to each company blog below. Picket Fence Studios My Sweet Petunia Thermoweb Continue reading

Today I’m happy to be part of the Wow! and Picket Fence Studios collaboration. To create my card I used Oyster Glintz embossing powder to emboss the stamped images of the I Love You Momma from the set onto hot press watercolor paper. I watercolored the images with ink from water based markers, and die cut the images using the coordinating I Love You Momma die set. The background was created by embossing a sheet of paper with Fool’s Gold Embossing Glitter (WS80R). I then cut the embossed sheet into strips, and adhered to another sheet of paper, and die cut into a rectangle. Thanks for visiting me today! Your next stop on the collaboration hop is the amazing JANA! Be sure to check out the full list of designers participating in today’s collaboration! There is some amazing inspiration to be seen! The Impression Obsession design team is featuring dies as the main focus for our inspiration projects today. I used Jam Jar (DIE827-YY) and Jam Jar Fruits (DIE828-V) (for the honey hive) to create a tag! I die cut the body of the jar from heavy weight white card stock, and a piece of printed designer paper. I adhered them together for stability. I cut the jar’s belly band and scallops from coordinating printed designer paper and adhered them in place on the jar. I cut the scalloped circle and the bee keep from heavy weight white card stock and colored the keep with alcohol markers. I cut the jar lid from a shimmery silver card stock and layered it over my twine loop. Finally, I added a little wooden bee for embellishment. I’m so excited! It’s Summer Die Release time for Impression Obsession, and that means I have new dies to share with you! I hope you enjoy the new dies in this release, welcome some of them into your stash, and make all kinds of wonderful crafty creations with them. Impression Obsessions dies are made with high-quality US steel, and some of them are even designed by me! Today is the first day of a two day Summer Die Release Celebration for Impression Obsession, and I hope you enjoy the inspiration! All of the new dies you see on our celebration posts today and tomorrow are available now on the Impression Obsession website. The first project I am sharing features four dies from the release. Sunny Face (DIE835-J), Wave Edges (DIE838-V), Small Sailboat (DIE832-H), and Stitched Clouds (DIE819-N). I also used the previously released favorite, Stitched Tag (DIE798-Y). I die cut Sunny Face, Waves, Clouds, and Small Sailboat from heavy white 110lb cardstock and colored most of the shapes with alcohol markers. I used various colors of blue ink to color the wave die cuts rich shades of blue. I assembled all of the pieces, layering them and adding dimension with foam adhesive, to create this scene, and *squeeeee!* how CUTE! The next project I’m sharing features the same Wave Edges (DIE838-V) and Stitched Clouds (DIE819-N), but uses Sailboat (DIE830-V) and some of the small fish from Fish (DIE822-R). Again, I die cut the shapes from heavy weight 110lb white cardstock and colored most of the shapes with alcohol markers. I also used various colors of blue ink to color the wave die cuts rich shades of blue. I assembled all of the pieces, layering and adding dimension with foam adhesive to create the scene. Find all the details on this amazing release on the Impression Obsession Blog. The project I made for today features images from the extra creative clear set, Seasonal Palette (WP961) and the sketched tree from the equally adorable Christmas Jar Set (WP963). All of the new images you will see on IO designer celebration posts July 1st-3rd are available now on the Impression Obsession website. (good night... how did we get to July already?) The Impression Obsession design team is featuring dies as the main focus for our inspiration projects today. On this card I used Funky Floral Frame (DIE801-YY) and one of the small flowers from the Stitched Flower Bouquet (DIE806-ZZ). I die cut the Funky Floral Frame from heavy weight cream card stock, inked it with various brown inks, and stamped it with Beauty Text (CC142) for a bit of texture. Then I ran the die through the die cutting machine with heavy weight watercolor paper, knowing that it wouldn’t cut through, but would just emboss the die into the paper. I watercolored the embossed design, and adhered the inked brown die cut piece over top of the painted watercolor layer. I ran the card through my die cutting machine without any dies, so the brown die cut layer is pressed into the watercolor paper, making the entire card feel almost like it’s one piece of paper. Finally, I adhered a small gold flower and blue button to the card for embellishment. Check the Impression Obsession blog for a list of designers providing inspiration today! Continue reading

We welcomed two little LaMancha/Oberhasli sisters to the farm family today, from Little Rockin’ Heart Dairy. They are cute as can be - I love their little gopher ears! We are delighted to have them here. We haven’t named them yet, but of course are tossing around several ideas. I snapped just a few photos while they were meeting Callio-Pea and Nutmeg, and getting settled in. They’re fast moving critters, so most of the photos are action shots (aka: blurry!) grin Nutmeg says “Hi-ya! Come on, gimme a kiss!” I’ll be sure to share more photos soon. Continue reading

Today I’m happy to be participating in a large Stamping Friends Trifecta blog hop with Picket Fence Studios, My Sweet Petunia, and Gina K Designs. For my project I chose to use several images from the Elegant Asters Stamp set from Gina K Designs. I stamped the images on watercolor paper and colored them with water based markers. I used the Elegant Asters coordinating dies to die cut the images. I used a My Sweet Petunia Mini Misti to position and stamp the sentiment on the front of my card. The Mini Misti makes it super easy to get a really nicely stamped sentiment, because you can stamp in the exact same location over, and over, as needed. Finally, I adhered the colored images to a folded half sheet of Sweet Mango Pure Luxury Cardstock, from Gina K Designs. I hope you check out all of the inspiration in today’s hop! You might want to leave a comment as you hop along — each of the three companies participating will be giving away a $50 gift card to their stores, randomly drawn from the comments at each stop on the hop. The three winners will be announced on the company blogs no later than June 7th. Here is a full list of designers participating in today’s hop! Have fun, and enjoy the inspiration!
