Today is a very exciting day for us! After 5 years of blogging, we are finally moving to a new blog/website. You can read all about it here. However, there is a little something we need to take care of here first. We haven't yet picked a winner of our Boat House contest yet. I kind of forgot because we have been so busy getting the new site ready. So...the winner is: Candy who wrote: I love it!! Each and every piece!!! Since my son joined the navy last year I love the red white and blue theme. I can't... Continue reading

Boat House! But first, we must confess. We don't have a boat. Let alone a boat house. We don't even live by a lake. Or an ocean. Or any body of water you could but a boat on. But we do have a creek. Or is it a crick? My husband and I always debate that. I actually know that it is "creek", but a whole lot of people around here say "crick", so I think that's okay, too. Anyway, yesterday we went down by the creek to take photos of The Boat House. And I also must confess that... Continue reading

We got a huge surprise from the UPS man a couple of days ago. Well, not really a surprise, because we have been anxiously awaiting its arrival for a long time. We know Elementary hasn't even hit stores yet, but as usual, we are off to the next thing. And the next thing for us is called The Boat House. Our next fabric collection. Not that it will be available any time soon. January is a looooooong way off, but just having this in my hands makes me smile. Really, really big. If you follow us on Instagram, you saw... It seems as though we have been working on our Elementary quilts forever! But the final binding was completed last night and we are ready to show them. As many of you know, we couldn't make it to Quilt Market last week in Pittsburgh, so this is the first time for anyone to see them. Here they are! Music Class (We thought the half circles looked sort of like a record- so that's where it got it's name). Math Class Rugby. We love this for either a baby, birthday or graduation quilt! This one is my favorite. Well, maybe Music... Continue reading

I have a problem - a forgetting problem! I had every intention of bringing my good camera to work with me today but once again I forgot. Yes I could go home and get it, but would have to drive through what looks like to me as the great dust bowl. Plus getting tossed around on the road due to the wind just didn't sound that fun. So my apologizes in advance for the not so stellar photos! Here we go - Step 1 Find your favorite iron on transfer (you can find all different shapes for your own bunting... Continue reading

Buntings! We are kind of obsessed with buntings around here. So we decided to make a whole bunch of them. And when I say a bunch, I kind of mean it. My sister gets all the credit for this project. She had the idea of using our iron-on transfers to create custom letters we used for the buntings. Here is one example: But she didn't stop there. She wanted a little more color, so she added this: And then if you were actually having a birthday party, you would want one for the cake. Or cupcakes. So when you put... Continue reading

And saves on paper bags- just throw it in the washer and use again and again. The outside is made from prairie cloth and the lining is Road 15 fabric: For more info on the Label Club, click here. Yes, I know. I told you I would choose a winner of the Elementary fabric on Friday. Only trouble is, I was at home and my internet service is awful out where I live. In the middle of nowhere. But for some reason, it started working just fine today, so I better hurry and post this! Congratulations to Kenna who wrote: I found a stack of authentic fat quarters by begging on IG. :) And this is reminds me of the perfect child of PURE and AUTHENTIC with turquoise blue eyes. :) BTW, my favorite is the black and... My sister designed these yesterday, and all I could say was ahh...... By the way, we don't have a little girl name Lucy- we just wish we did! These tags would look so cute on Easter baskets, but we are going to use them as "place cards" on our Easter table. So fun! If you would like the labels and/or fabric to make the tags, they are available in our store. If you order the labels, you will also get the simple instructions to make the tag- so no need to buy a separate pattern. Oh- and they coordinte with... Continue reading

First of all, thank you for all the Elementary love! We can't wait to get started on some quilts- we have them designed, but actually getting them finished is the hard part. Now, back to Easter projects. This one is my favorite. Meet Matilda, Charlie and Gus. These are easy to make and will be so cute in an Easter basket! If you would like the pattern or kit, they are available now in our store. I said these are my favorite, but I just got a glimpse of tomorrow's project. Maybe that is my favorite. Come back to see... We are so excited to show you our newest fabric collection. But before we do, a little background about the collection. Remember this? As some of you know, that is Authentic. Our very first fabric collection for Moda. I have a special place in my heart for that collection- and one special shelf at our office has the last stack of Authentic fat quarters known to man sitting on it. But we aren't going to actually use it. We are going to look at it forever. Which leads me to Elementary. When we started designing, we knew we wanted something... Continue reading

Do you ever feel like you are just losing your mind because nothing is going right? Well, that is today. Or the last week, really. My computer crashed last week- there is nothing worse! So the whole process of getting a new computer, restoring my files, e-mail, whatever, lasted about a week. I was ready yesterday to get to work. But, no. I couldn't get my software on my new computer. Without boring you with all the technical details, the bottom line is: I CAN'T DO ANY WORK!!!! So, while I promised a new Easter project for yesterday, I couldn't... Continue reading

Happy Friday! Today we are so excited to be a part of Fat Quarter Shop's 2014 Designer Mystery Block of the Month. Although we aren't showing our individual block, we are allowed to share a few pics of the finished quilt. This year, the designer mystery quilt is all about stars. Our instructions were to design a star block and dedicate it to a "star". Hmmm....that was kind of tough. The star part. I don't really know any "stars". I would like to know some stars- Jennifer Aniston, Peyton Manning, Kenny Chesney, The Pioneer Woman. But I really don't want... Continue reading

We have been working on a new line of products and finally they are ready!! ( and I am soooo excited about them!) For a few years we have been printing iron on labels and have always said to ourselves, we need to try iron on transfers. While we still love our iron on labels we just wanted to try something a little different. This is what we came up with - Cute Kitchen Towels! and then we decided that we needed to give our customers many options so... we thought wouldn't it be fun if they could put their...
