12 Days of Giveaways: Day TWO - Win A Modern Quilting Library
Day two of the 12 Days of Giveaways is an exciting one for us quilters in the office. We find quilting inspiration all over the place--on the web, from each other, at our local fabric shops, and of course, whenever we look over and see what’s coming off our own printers. But sometimes it’s...
Looks like a lovely book. kayajoy
We Make Dolls book and fabric giveaway
Things are really hopping in the Spoonflower shop these days! The printing and shipping crews are working almost non-stop to get orders out the door before our shipping deadlines. Then it's home to work on hand-made gifts with the whirr of sewing machines and the click of knitting needles re...
So great to see so many of my designs used here. Thanks for making my day Emma! (kayajoy)

To learn about sewing different types of fabrics BEFORE I use them as opposed to by trial & error. GREAT idea!

Your collection is gorgeous, Rashida! I love the idea of this series of blog post. As someone who has never been to QM, but dreams of some day being a participant, this is already informative with regards to preparation. Looking forward to following the story. Thanks for this SF & Rashida!
Road to Quilt Market!
Many of you know of Rashida Coleman-Hale from her lovely sewing books featuring zakka projects, Zakka Style and I Love Patchwork, or maybe from her Washi fabric collection released through Timeless Treasures last year, or perhaps through her beautiful blog I Heart Linen. Here at Spoonflower, we ...
I've tried the wallpaper & love it, so this would be a great opportunity to give the decals a shot. Something for my son, for sure ... Thanks for the chance at another great giveaway Spooflower. kayajoy
Spoonflower Wall Decal Giveaway
We're pretty thrilled to have rolled out our new wallpaper and wall decals this week and given that this giant step for Spoonflower happened only yesterday, it seems appropriate for this week's giveaway should be wall decals! If you'd like to be entered into the drawing for this week's prize ...
Tough choice, but I think I'd like to take the linen caftan class with Liesl Gibson. What a great idea & site!

Creativebug subscription giveaway
There seem to be so many ways now to learn how to make stuff--"real life" crafting and sewing classes at local and chain shops, YouTube videos you can go to for a quick visual primer on specific techniques, sewalongs hosted on blogs, and now a more recent development that we're watching with ...
Great collection, Vo! Congrats once again. kayajoy

Oh, I'd love some new scissors. With 2 kids who LOVE cutting anything & everything, my scissors have seen better days. And, yes, I hate tools that don't work properly. Just bought a new box of pins & they need to almost be hit with a hammer to get them through fabric. What are manufacturers thinking?????
Fabric8 Collection Giveaway winner and a giveaway of things you shouldn't run with
Gingher 7-1/2-Inch Pinking Shears, 8-Inch Knife Edge Dressmaker's Shears & 4-Inch Featherweight Thread Clippers We're big fans of quality sewing tools around here. There's nothing more ruinous to the happy experience of creating something you're excited about than working with shoddy tools --...
The Audrey dress is adorable. Thanks for the opportunity. Oh, for a 6yr old. Kayajoy
Violette Field Threads pattern and fabric giveaway
My daughters and I recently drew up a poster of things to do this summer and hung it on the fridge. I tried to only add things that I knew all of us would enjoy: "Pick peaches," for example, and "Invite friends on a picnic." I made an effort not to write anything down that was just for me t...
Yes please. Need help!! kayajoy
Crafty Photography Book Giveaway and Drawing Set Giveaway Winner
Photography has never been my strong suit so I'm often stopped in my tracks whenever I'm cruising around Etsy. How did all these people who are clearly so talented at making stuff--purses, knitted shrugs, pendant necklaces, paintings, or what have you--also get blessed with crazy photography sk...
I love modern quilts. I would so like to win this. kayajoy
Denyse Schmidt's Modern Quilts book giveaway and Hat Shop giveaway winner
Denyse Schmidt provided one of my earliest introductions to the modern quilting movement. I love that she derives inspiration from vintage quilts and designs since these are dear to me already, but she cleans them up for the current quilter so that things look both familiar and fresh. I've gi...
What a great looking set of tools. If you can believe it, I need replacement pins. Those darned things are so frustrating. Can't believe a company would actually make pins one has to struggle with to get through fabric. And, sad to say it, but having won many a needle & thread race as a kid (no kidding) I now need a threader. The eyes just aren't as sharp as they used to be.
And I have no idea what I would need beeswax for, but once I find out, I guess I'll need that too.

Merchant & Mills sewing notions giveaway and Rashida Coleman-Hale giveaway winner
Back when I was learning how to bake in a professional kitchen, I had a chef say to me, "A good chef never blames the equipment for her mistakes." I agree with her that solid skills can usually overcome any deficiency in the equipment you might have to work with but on the other hand, don't h...
Looks like some great projects. And her fabric designs are happy, happy. Kayajoy
Rashida Coleman-Hale giveaway and Pattern books winner

Interview & Giveaway With Laurie Wisbrun, Author of Mastering the Art of Fabric Printing and Design
I recently had the pleasure of interviewing licensed fabric designer, Laurie Wisbrun. Laurie has been with Spoonflower since practically our very beginning, and we've been thrilled bystanders as she has evolved from life on the "corporate hamster wheel" to success as a popular fabric designer. ...

Victory that you have conquered French seams, zipper installation, and perfect buttonholes! Victory that you've gotten this far into the day and have already eaten all your recommended servings of fruits and vegetables! Victory that you can create seamless design repeats practically in your ...
I'd be interested in one of the quilting ones, as my skills are sadly lacking in this field. Probably Beyond Basic or Quilting Big Projects on a small Machine or Paper Piecing.
Thanks for the opportunity, Kayajoy.
Craftsy class giveaway and WhimseyBox winner
Does the least little hint of spring weather make you start daydreaming about sewing pretty cotton dresses? It sure turns my mind that way. I think I've spent all my spare seconds for the past week mentally matching up pretty fabrics with dress patterns I've spotted. Like MelissaMelissa's ro...
Oh, I so need this! Kayajoy.

Thanks to all the nearly 500 folks (!) who entered last week's giveaway for three yards of our new Kona® quilting weight cotton. The lucky winner was Bee Jacobs in Oregon. Congrats, Bee, and I hope you love the Kona as much as we do! This week, we're giving away a year's subscription to Threa...

A garden of fabrics
At Spoonflower, we have the fabric equivalent of all the gardening catalogs I've been receiving in the mail lately. Roses. From top left corner, Retro Roses by Cynthia Frenette, Roses Beige Background by Art Is Us, BlackFlowersPanel by Danielle Hanson, Joan's Dusty Roses and Snow Roses by TwoBl...
I've seen this book before & it's gorgeous. Would love to win a copy. I'm actually, at this very moment, procrastinating with a slew of spoonflower fabric around me on the floor. Planning to finally make a duvet cover & pillow cover for my son (with some of Zesti's fabulous "dragon boy" fabric & my "castle blocks"). Just can't decide whether to keep it simple or do more of a real patchwork style. Kayajoy.
We're giving away a copy of Weekend Sewing by Heather Ross!
With Christmas chaos behind us at Spoonflower, we're finally getting to catch our breath, slow down, and consider our own creative projects again. I love this time of year actually, when everything seems to come to a sudden halt compared to the previous week's frenetic pace. (But don't worry...
