Ever since my trip to Sweden, I've been reminded of the beauty of a perfectly cooked potato. It's something you really take for granted. In lots of recipes, the meager potato gets haphazardly prepared in many ways and coated in... Continue reading

This week marks the birthday of something pretty important to me. No...it's not a relationship...or a pet. It's a book. It's the volume in my (ridiculous) cookbook collection I turn to most - The Flavor Bible. The brainchild of Karen... Continue reading

I'm taking a blog break from waxing poetic and wistfully recalling our trip to Scandinavia in order to...share a Swedish recipe with you. I can't help it, people. The food there was *amazing* - beautiful colors, fabulous combinations of textures,... Continue reading

At a stark-but-charming restaurant called Jacob's, I had my very first taste of Norway: freshly caught mackerel, thinly sliced radish, sweet roasted cauliflower, sharp spring onion in a browned butter sauce. It was a beautiful dish that was at the... Continue reading

"Stockholm, eh?" was pretty much my response as I stared blankly at my laptop screen. Mike told me he was going to Sweden for work...for 10 days. I was immediately filled with feelings of anxiety - I'm not sure we've... Continue reading

I've been waiting and waiting to share this recipe with you but, well, there's some traveling going on that has priority these past two weeks. On our first leisurely morning of our trip, I'm up early to work on this... Continue reading

This past Sunday brought the second edition of what has become my favorite Atlanta food event - Attack of the Killer Tomatofest, which is a benefit for Georgia Organics. The organization does so much for area farmers, raising awareness of... Continue reading

You don't see a lot of cantaloupe recipes. The ones I've seen are for granitas or for slices wrapped in prosciutto. When I was flipping through Williams-Sonoma's Cooking From The Farmers' Market, I noticed several recipes for cantaloupe. I was... Continue reading

I've had all three recipes for this week's Cooking From The Farmers' Market planned out for a week. As I said in my post yesterday, picking just a few of them was a tall task. I'd even gone so far... Continue reading

A few weeks ago, the folks at Williams-Sonoma were kind enough to send me a couple of their newest cookbooks to preview. All of them were wonderful - you would expect nothing less from WS. I kept going back to... Continue reading

Standing at the kitchen counter earlier this week, I let out this relaxed shudder while chopping away at tomatoes. Twisting each tomato off the vine and smelling that wafting smell - you know which one I'm talking about. The smell... Continue reading

marla- thanks for stopping by the blog! just checked yours out - it's awesome! i've added you to my RSS feed :) - t*
gilli- one of the good parts about that tomato recipe is because you're stuffing the tomatoes and baking them, they don't have to be perfect. an average tomato-on-the-vine will still taste delicious :) - t*
Thanks, Amanda :)
Barbara- Thank you for hosting such a wonderful event. It was a nice change of pace and a little challenge for me. TDF turned out great, as usual - glad I was a part of it. - t*
Your post for TDF was great, Chris. Do make the tomato recipe - I was just thinking that I have tomatoes to use & leftover baguette for breadcrumbs. Might be my dinner tonight! - t*
thanks, kay! just checked out your blog - it's adorable :) - t*

Carolyn- Thankfully...I can rarely accurately measure how many lentils I really need to make & tend to have more than enough for a recipe. I usually just splash them with some red wine vinegar, some oil, herbs, maybe some shaved cheese. So delicious. thanks for stopping by the blog :) - t*
