Spell check: hjang, muyslef. Is this a code for "hang myself"? The Chinese are coming the Chinese are coming! grin
Reality is that you will always have the poor no matter how much you redistribute the wealth. I have seen many people with horrible credit and a 6 figure income too. My own mistakes are as the sand on the shore.

Not at all. Most of us want to fit in and conform to our surroundings. The alternative is pure loneliness and frustration at the shallowness of your fellow man. Unless of course everyone shared the same freedom to think. We couldn't even get everyone to boycott baseball after the strike so good luck with that one. Emerson's view of "new systems of thought" would drive most bosses nuts as they tend to want everyone to think like themselves and get on the same page. My favorite clips are these: “We are always getting ready to live but never living” “Be not the slave of your own past. Plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep and swim far, so you shall come back with self-respect, with new power, with an advanced experience that shall explain and overlook the old.” I need to read those two again and again.
To how often I visit you in the summer as a family.
Wall Street has always been corrupt but with todays computer controlled markets its even worse for the average joe. This big boys win while the majority of the small players lose. The SEC turns their backs on most of the sins. After all.........the big boys make great constituents. I wish I had 100% authority for a day. Heads would fall!
Well, I bought $2000 worth of "self help" cassetes in the 80's but you can't change the strips on a Tiger. I'm still running.

I have been searching 55 years for what God wants me to accomplish (as in work) on this planet. So far no answers.
Phil, you are a dynamic book reviewer! You make people want to hear/read more. Someone needs to recognize your talent and put you in a position of high wages for your efforts. Good job. I found myself mentally and spiritually lost in your review. Trust me you don't have to be a genious to be "disabled" in this life. My spiritual training, temperament, and world experiences are constantly clashing with my desire for idealism or perfectionism. Mental and spritual paralisis is the result. Nothing matters to me more than the gospel of Christ and yet I wish my life on no one. There seems to be a disconnect between idealism and reality. Truth becomes elusive.
Sounds like a very insightful book. I have witnessed many times extroverts implementing the introverts ideas and taking credit for them as well. Extroverts tend to look at introverts as weaker and immature when it just might be the other way around. Cholerics expecially seem to belittle the melancholics and phlegmatics as if they were somehow superior when indeed they would fail without a more balanced team. Not that they would ever admit it.
I worked next to a hospice for many years. I could tell you some horror stories about the end of life. You bring up a valid point in comparing animals and humans. I have wondered about that for many years. Many pet owners have them put down way to early. My sister told me to put Tigger down almost 4 years ago. He still enjoys life with me although he has to deal with a hard cough dozens of times per day. This is a tough debate that falls in the abortion category. Endless discussion.

The mind cannot tell the difference between that which is real and that which is vividly imagined. The Mormons don't have to rely on fantasies they grab reality by the horns and make it ideal. “At eighteen one adores,” says a French proverb, “At twenty one loves. At thirty one desires. At forty one thinks it over.”.....Thats why I didn't marry until I was 48. grin
Are some created as a vessel of God's wrath? Do we all fall under God's grace regardless of anything we do or say as Rob Bell suggest? What is the fate of one who piles up stolen goods? I long for woe to come to my enemies. Does that not bring woe to me as well? Without pending doom it seems to me that we would get very little "good" from the human heart. Its easier to respond to fear than to grace. Religion is used to create better societies. Not so much to honor a holy God but to function together. Does a God who declares salvation to be engulfed in himself honor or punish the method at which you achieve goals?
"Dalaire is convinced that those with power have a moral obligation to use it on behalf of the needy." Your question is a very thought provoking one indeed. In America we seem to think that the needy are those who don't have a cell phone. We have the homeless without aid and others getting entitlements so they can afford bigger SUV'S. An issue of real concern to me is one that involves the maintenance of Justice and the freedom of Opportunity. Free and healthy entrepreneurs in any country do not want government assistance. "Society in every state is a blessing, but government even in its best state is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one; for when we suffer, or are exposed to the same miseries by a government, which we might expect in a country without government, our calamity is heightened by reflecting that we furnish the means by which we suffer." -- Thomas Paine In the case of the Rwanda Crisis evil was not punished enough so that aid simply fell into the hands of the bad guys. Did you know that today America is in reality broke? I mean if we were a company we would have to file for bankruptcy. Nevertheless we still have on our books to send billions and billions of aid to countries like Egypt. Afria is littered with millions and millions of US dollars boxed up and given as "Help for a worthy cause". The way those in power give aid is like raising a 3 year old by giving him a credit card and telling him to call you in 15 years.

While I may continue to go about it the wrong way I have always had a deep drive to bring about justice to an unjust world. I want evil to be judged NOW not in some after life setting. Experience has taught me the futility of it all and yet it remains the chief motivating force within.
