I've always LOVED that quote! So, so true and great shot of your sweet girl!
What Really Matters
Dotti
This is great, Dotti! I love to do this too, conjure up a story when I don't know the real one. It makes people watching so much fun! This is my first visit to your blog, believe it or not, and definitely won't be my last. Thanks for sharing the link with your photo on PI.
A Walk in the Park
There's a story here ... I just don't know what it is so my brain concocted one. When I got out of the car at the city park, I heard the ducks and geese sqawking for all they were worth. I found out why when I approached the covered bridge: It was dinner time. This kindly gentlemen had a loaf...
I not going to be any help, but I like the blue on the PDF version better!
Help!
ETA: I can't create the same shade of blue in CYMK - I think it's out of the range of what CYMK can produce. And I'm on a MAC. Many of you know that I'm not the most computer-savvy girl in the world so I'm in need of some help. I'm putting new cover pages on all my lessons for The Photographers...
Karen, there would be a LOT of sad people if you dropped out of the blogging world! I love your stories, the photos of your kids and everything else about reading your blog. It is one of a few I read EVERY day. You have an honesty that is rare and it makes us all feel as if we know you. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season with your beautiful family. P.S. The 5D is now my constant companion and my 40D is gathering dust, so just wanted you to know it has a good home!

1.We got some snow a couple weeks back and the kids got to play in it for awhile before we headed off to school. 2. There are unanswered emails in my inbox that go all the way back to September which makes me both embarrassed & overwhelmed. If your one of those emails, I'm sorry. My goal is ...
Really beautiful shots, Jill! I'm playing catch up in Picture Fall as well due to a computer crash. Up and running again and hoping to get caught up soon. Always enjoy seeing your photos.
Picture Fall
My theme for 2010 seems to be fitness and photography. Along with starting a 90 day fitness challenge in October I also started another photography class, Picture Fall with Tracey Clark at Big Picture Classes. A glimpse of Fall 2010... Leaves Comfy Morning Light After the Fall What Rema...
Darling! And I know exactly what you mean about trying to take a photo of yourself in the mirror -- the issues of cutting off your head and the vacant stare. I've done it a number of times. Also have had numerous similar experiences with hairstylists that start out great and then forget what they did. Taking a picture to show them down the road is a great idea. Just thought I'd pop in to say "hi" since it's been awhile. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
You Asked For It
Okay, okay...I hear you. Here's a photo of me and the new haircut. The haircut I had a year or so ago looked a lot like this one...short and a little stirred-with-a-stick-like but it got lost over time as each trim got more and more mediocre. Now it's back to where I can wash it, run a little...
Margie, I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Knowing you, you will come out the other side whole and happy, but as you said to me recently, I'm here for you if you need ANYTHING! Terri
So many things to be grateful for...
{not my house, but it's what it looks like to me} This week has flown...They all do, but this week especially... I have moved into a new, little, old house...Me and my girls... Change... Fresh start... Excited, happy, sad, anxious... All of the abov...
I NEED a friend like Lorie right now! You know, the kind of friend you can tell ANYTHING to and she will love you anyway. She won't try to "fix" it, she will just listen so you can vent. Do you rent her out?
Looks like you need one of my Photoshop classes. I could fix that dark pic right up (although I love that chandelier reflection too).
Hope to get to see you soon. I tried for C.E. but (even with Pam Black's trying to get me in) I didn't get in, so will hope to see you somewhere else soon.
Terri
hello tuesday...
The day before I leave for a trip is a busy day...writing my faithful lists...packing, last minute kitting, making sure i pack everything i possibly will need...Cleaning up the house, laundry etc. Glam life...Not so much just life...Working on my Week in a life documenting along the way...I notic...
I think I need to come and tag along with you and Erin! Her photos are AMAZING!! Especially the ones out in the woods in the post titled "Ridiculousness". Thanks for posting these. I am a fan now and this will be a blog I'll be checking regularly.
Erin Cobb.
Won't be around for the next couple of days because I'm going to be shooting with Erin Cobb (one of my favorite photographers in the whole-wide-world.) I just checked her blog (I check it every day because I'm enamored with her.) and saw that she mentioned coming to visit me and very diplomatica...
Brenda, have you ever tried Dove Dark Chocolate Promises? I can't live without them for the same reasons you mentioned above about the Kisses. However, once you try the Doves you will never go back to Kisses. Smoother, creamier, and there's cute little quotes inside the foil wrappers. Hershey's makes some similar ones called Bliss and they are pretty comparable to the Doves. Both are far superior to Kisses as far as I'm concerned. But beware, they are doubly hard to "eat just one"!
Crisis Averted
There are plenty of dangerous things going on in the world right now. Devastating earthquakes in multiple locations. Long-dormant volcanoes erupting. Walmart no longer carrying dark chocolate Hershey's Kisses. What's that, you say? The lack of dark chocolate Kisses doesn't fit in with earthquake...
I am just getting caught up on my blog reading and wanted to express my condolences to both you and Wayne on the loss of his mother. My mother is 83 and I just can't imagine my life without her in it. I LOVE the layout on the 5 signs and can't wait to make one myself. All of your ideas are so cute that I can't choose just one! Thanks for sharing.
April's Five on the Fifth
I'm a bit behind posting...these last few days have been busy to say the least. And while I expect to respond to each of you who have left such kind and supportive comments for Wayne and me, I want you to know how much they mean to us. We've wrapped your words around us like a warm hug and they ...

Wow, would I ever love to know your settings for these! Ever since my 28-year-old son played basketball in junior high and high school and now my 8-year-old grandson, gym photos have plagued me. I just can't figure out how to make them come out like yours did. Maybe this can be one of those shoots that you use for Getting the Shot. I can only hope!
Basketball.
Basketball season is upon us... She's #4 (my favorite number ever.) That one cracks me up. And a few from Coley's game too. Check out that move. And that one too.
I thought my e-mail address would show up, but it's terriporter@cox.net. Thanks, Allison.
FOTW - Group Shot
This is a group of savvy, motivated women who also happen to be photographers. What a privilege to meet you all and spend 2 days learning together. Thanks to everyone who participated and don't forget to keep in touch on your progress! The first group shot is of their framed work courtesy of Mat...
Hi Tina! Love your blog! Gorgeous photos and I love the Friday Fill-ins idea. Thanks for your comments on my blog. I love that about this class -- the ability to go visit other people's blogs for inspiration. I'm definitely going to bookmark yours! Terri
Friday Fill Ins
1. Good times: The Holidays with family. 2. Still decorating my home. 3. Sleigh bells ring are ya listening. 4. Where did the time go, my kids are no longer little. 5. Once more I'm enjoying the season. 6. I wish the problems with my brother would end? 7. And as for the weekend, tonight ...
December Daily - Day 2
The subject of Day 2 is "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas". I found this great paper in a pack at Michael's that is from K & Company and thought it would be fun to use for my pages about getting out and doing some shopping, which always gets me in the holiday spirit. The decor at ...
December Daily - Day 3
The Day 2 prompt for Journal Your Christmas was to write about the weather. Well, I wanted to use that great K & Co. paper for my Day 2 layout, so I'm going to do my Day 3 page about the weather. I wanted to write about how much I love living where it doesn't snow, even though at this time ...
All that beautiful natural light! LOVE it!! Can't wait until next week when I get to see it in person.
ATJ New Digs
Here's a little sneak peek of the new space from the hallway view...we are loving our new home! The cyc wall is done and DIVINE to shoot on (will post pics later) and the white floors are pure BUTTAH! The cyc wall is our studio shooting area and the area with the table is our natural light shoot...
I'm in as well. I took Cathy's DYL class and LOVED it and am so excited she is teaching another class. I had heard great things about this class when she was teaching it at CKU. I have my AC corduroy album ready to go, my pattern paper selected, my tag book made and am slowly filling it. I had not read the book but just downloaded it to my Kindle so I can read it on the beach next week. A friend came back into town today and came over to visit and when she saw what this class was going to be about, she immediately sat down at my computer and signed up. It will be fun to work on it together as well as being inspired by everyone who will be in the class. BPS classes are wonderful!

I've been reading this evening. Saturday night television is the pits and it's even worse in the summer so I'm winding down by getting lost between the pages of a good book. Tonight's choice? An encyclopedia. Not just any encyclopedia...the Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life. The author paints a v...
This is awesome, Mellie! It will be great to be able to buy the inks and possibly some of the stamps in one place instead of hunting all over for them. Thanks in advance for doing this.
Palette inks now available!
I am really excited to share my passion for this particular ink! If there is one common question I am asked over and over in my workshops, it would be about my ink choices. I can share with you several reasons I love this ink pad so much! 1. It is an hybrid ink...so it dries super fast...less...
LOVE your music page, Brenda! The Threading Waters punch is one of my favorites and I can't wait to try this technique with it. I kept thinking, "Now why didn't I think of that?" So glad you did!
This Blessing Rocks
Looking back over the recent blog posts, there’s a common theme running through them…music. I didn’t really intend it that way; music just plays a significant role in our lives. I don’t think I realized just how significant it was until we spent the day being entertained by a genre we’ve seldom ...
Okay, everybody knows your girls are amazingly cute, but I just have to comment on Josh's calves. Was he ever a soccer player? They look just like my youngest son's who played soccer from the age of 6 to the present (he's 24). Love soccer calves!
Pizza.
Took the girls to pizza at our new, favorite pizza place in town; Jackson Creek Pizza Co. the other night (it's on E. Main in Downtown Medford). That's the girls and their babies getting ready to leave. (Annie was holding the door open for her Dad.) That's us in the alley where we parked....
Thanks for the info, Brenda! I knew about Jessica's class and can't wait for it to start. I thought I knew a lot about Photoshop until I took her "Photo Editing: Good to Great Workflow" class and learned a ton. But I didn't know about Jen McGuire's class on 2Peas or the CK Summer Camp. I'm usually so "up" on what's going on in the scrapbooking world, but I've been on vacation and am a little out of touch, so thanks for bringing me up to date on what's going on. Terri
Need More Inspiration?
The television is off tonight...I'll not be sucked in to another black hole that poses as entertainment. I can't even tell you the name of the movie I watched as I missed the actual start but it was on one of the channels on the upper end of the dial. Somewhere I seldom venture. The story was ac...
