I took the picture of the stairwell, and have since learned I was mistaken– that door was NOT the entrance to the former Abel's lounge. Those stairs are next door and are now the (much more attractive) entrance to the recently opened Shackett's brew pub, which not only serves locally crafted beers, but once again hosts live music!
Out of the Cellar and Into the Back Room; A 25 Year Journey
This nondescript cellar door on the square in Bristol, New Hampshire ("Gateway to Newfound Lake") was once entrance to the tavern at Abel's restaurant. It's now long gone, but back in the 90s, Abel's thriving, eclectic weekly open mike first brought the Buskers together (where's the historic pl...
There are soo many factors to take into account w/ an accordion. Lucky for me I live 20 minutes from the Accordion Connection in NH and they have always given me honest appraisals. There are also good accordion shops in Philly & NY. I'd continue surfing: ebay, accordion stores, etc. Then pick a number and go on Craigslist. I can't even remember now what my Camerano sold for...needed some work (they always do). 300? 500?
[sold] My 120 Bass Camerano Accordion (as featured on "Spank That Tambourine!")
You know you've always wanted one. And now that they're legal in all 50 states and Puerto Rico, what's to hold you back? My friends at the Accordion Connection have on consignment my 120 bass Camerano, the beautiful red Italian job I played on our latest album "Spank That Tambourine." It's in...
to Mike K - you are right, of course. Thanks.

[Editor's Note: I had no idea so many people would weigh in on this when I wrote it back in 2005. I just noticed that old comments no longer appear, so I have cut-and-pasted every comment to date below, w/ the names (but not the addresses) of the various contributors. Thanks, everyone, for record...
update: it is now 2012; I have been using that same stand for 6 years, and it looks a little beaten up, but is holding up fine. (and i still have the quik-lok stand in the cellar if you want to make me an offer!)
Gear Talk: On-Stage Folding Heavy-Duty-Dual-Tier Z Keyboard Stand
What a mouthful. There isn’t enough room under x-type keyboard stands for my new set of bass pedals as well as sustain and volume pedals, so I had to buy a new stand. I can save anyone else in the same position any further internet research: I heartily recommend the On-Stage folding z-stand. It i...
what a memorable night! our host, the owner of this beautiful house in the woods overlooking a gorge on the seneca(?) river, was so good to us; and the audience was... beyond attentive and appreciative! we'll be back in the area in plattsburgh in august and hope to see some of these new friends again then.
Radio Bean Burlington & Cadyville, NY
Playing Radio Bean in Burlington, VT this friday, 8 pm. One set, over in a flash. Don't blink or you'll miss it. Just close your eyes and think of England. But looking forward to getting back out on the road a bit after being separated this winter. And a good espresso. The rhythm section (Cra...
