What a great idea, you will finish in no time at all! Such fun to have a sisterly KAL.
sisters cast on!
it's been a whole five years since my sister meghan and i have done matchy-match knitting projects. that means it's high time we came up with another project for a sister knit-a-long! a few years back at the fiber fest i got both her and i skeins of lovely alpaca yarn from enchanted meadows fibe...
I like the idea of a word a day to interpret. You amaze me with how you manage your time! I would never be able to fit so much into my day.
september photo a day challenge
i participated in a photo a day challenge for the month of september over on the instagram. here are the results: they gave us a word each day to interpret as we wished: it was fun, some days were definitely more of a challenge than others, but all in all i'd say that i enjoyed myself! i w...
Snow?!! Are you kidding me?! Have a great trip. It would have been fun to meet up in London!
mitts completed
the hedgerow mitts (rav link) for my friend are completed! and just in time too, as the weather report is calling for a dusting of snow tomorrow night! i love how these turned out, and more importantly so does my friend! she was super excited to get them because she's heading out on a cam...
That cushion is lovely, I hope it went to a good home! You will have to ask Melinda to post a photo of what she does with all those circles!
the mel-mel barn barter
i'm always on the lookout for opportunities to barter goods, in planning for the barn party silent auction i asked my dear friend, the extremely talented melinda at quirky granola girl, if she would make something for the auction, and if so, what she would like in return. she donated this ama...
Does a lit fire mean that it's chilly in your neck of the woods? It looks so inviting and cosy. I am currently reading some no brainer chick-lit - all I can concentrate on right now. I have a couple of books ready and waiting for my next school holiday. My knitting has been in a bit of a slump for the last couple of weeks, school has taken over a bit. I have a mountain of gift knitting and might have bitten off a bit more than I can chew!
yarn along 09.24.14
joining up with ginny at small things for this week's yarn along: reading: i've started a new book! and i'm so so so so excited about it i can not even begin to tell you! i have been in love with hildegard von bingen for practically ever... we sang a number of her compositions in women's...
What an amazing community effort. Love all those shadowy photos.
big red barn dance
the barn dance, silent auction, and local foods dinner was held last night and on all accounts can be counted as a huge success! the turn out was amazing and the silent auction received a lot of compliments and more importantly, a lot of bids! there was such an amazing feeling of communi...
This post is so full of happiness! So delighted that the three of you met up. And Mateo is gorgeous!!
wisconsin weekend
claire is in the states visiting her family in wisconsin and lindsey had a work conference in wisconsin, and i never turn down a chance to visit my neighboring state... so i bet you can figure what that meant!! sandwich meetup in wisconsin! it was a wonderful weekend, which of course went to...
I'd forgotten about your circles, I cannot wait to see them all hanging from your stick!
coming back around to the circles...
i promise i haven't completely forgotten my crochet circles. they've been sitting in nice little stacks on my dining room table since apparently june 28th... i just got swept up in summer; the traveling, the unsuspected reappearance of blankie, the need to finish the barn ripple before the dea...
Your quilt is lovely Melissa, I do hope it raises lots of money. I'd definitely be bidding for it! Your poster is fab too!
barn dance ripple
it's finished! and with 10 days to spare! the barn dance ripple is so named because it is destine for a spot in a silent auction at a barn dance party. the center for earth spirituality and rural ministry, where i am a volunteer and board member, runs a large community garden in mankato. ...
All your quilts are beautiful, it is hard to choose a favourite. I like the fun photo shoot too.
Quilt roundup
I've been quietly quilting up a storm because friends and family are having babies. Here are a few finished projects. For a friend's son: For another friend's grandson (we had a family silly photo shoot) And one for my cousin's daughter That baby really inspired the cre...
Luckily (or unluckily) for me, these matches are on in the middle of the night, so I don't get pulled in watching them. I am like snoopydog as far as Wimbledon is concerned.
i am, i am, i am superman...
...and i have found my kryptonite. what? what is this strange power than can cripple my ability to crochet?!?! you may have heard of it... it's called the us open. i can not knit (or crochet) while i watch tennis. and i can. not. stop. watching tennis. so this ripple of mine is stil...
That centre looks like such a fabulous resource. Our technological lifestyle means that so many kids these days miss out on seeing things like this. Good for you helping out!
nature center knitting
every tuesday night i volunteer at the elks nature center in rasmussen woods in mankato. back when lily was in preschool the center was staffed full time and ran all different sorts of educational programs (we were very fond of "nature power preschool hour.") but due to city budget cutbacks the...
You cannot beat Lucy's Ripple pattern for a totally fabulous blanket. I am working on a couple of swap gifts right now and am about to start reading a book about the history of the city I live in. It sounds really interesting.
yarn along 08.28.14
joining ginny at small things for this week's yarn along (i'm a day late - but let's just roll with it, shall we?): reading: i haven't been a big reader this summer... since june i've read 1 1/2 books, which is odd for me, but sometimes i get in a "need a break from voracious reading" moo...
I think Pip is hoping that this blanket is heading her way! It looks lovely.
switching blankets
for the past month or so my constant crafting companion has been blankie. finishing up that long lingering solid square and all that sashing had me so excited to start making little squares again, i can not even tell you... the call of the blankie has been strong! today i looked at the calen...
