More about getting my iPhone
It's no secret that I have struggled with my relationship with AT&T - I dread going to their stores because I know we'll be treated poorly and won't leave feeling like the valued customers we have been for many years now. Since the cell phone plan is in Wil's name we needed to make time to go ...

Curating Leads to Creativity
I often find that the more time I spend in my library curating images and looking things over with searches in different contexts, the more creative ideas come to me - like this layout for my daughter Grace: With my digital photo organization and digital supply library it is very... You can - I usually delete all my backups except for about the most recent month. I do daily backups so they add up quick. Hope that helps!
It's Time to Talk About Backup...yes again
Seriously. If you're reading this and you really don't have a backup plan except intermittent exports of photos to an external drive - I'm talking to you. You deserve better and so do your photos. I promise it really isn't that hard. The optimal backup plan includes automatic backup to your ext...
It's All About Perspective...
Sometimes the way that we approach anything can make a huge difference in how we see it... The journaling reads: Standing up mowing my lawn, dandelions seem like the worst nuisance ever. They grow, bloom and then reproduce like rabbits... However, 15 minutes behind my macro lens and they look... Continue reading

10 Quotes to Spring You from a Creative Rut
"People usually consider walking on water or in thin air as a miracle. But I think the real miracle is to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize; a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a... Continue reading

Thinking of a New EHD for Christmas?
Now might just be a better time to snag it than later. I received a press release this morning from Western Digital detailing how the flooding in Thailand is going to impact their ability to produce hard drives to meet the demands. Long story short: they're thinking they won't be... Continue reading

Capturing Connections
Lately I've been thinking a lot about the photos I take. Part of my Photo Flow process is thinking about the photos I choose to capture. One thing I really want to consciously document more are connections - the relationships and moments that punctuate them. Everytime I browse through my... Continue reading

Finding Photo Flow = Support In 6 Software Programs
It's a recurring question among those signing up for my new class... Do I have to have Lightroom? Althought I love Lightroom, it isn't a requirement for this class. Finding Photo Flow is about creating your own flow and finding a software program you love. To help you in that... Continue reading

Recipe for a new iPhone 4S upgrade & $730 annual savings...
I've been waiting to upgrade my poor old iPhone 3G (notice the missing S). It's old. In fact, truth be told, my poor iPhone has been replaced by Apple Care thrice - the last time happened to be on the LAST day my Apple Care was valid. I've been hobbling... Continue reading

Sharing Memories
I love this video because it illustrates how many "little" efforts add up to big payoffs. Imagine what a treasure this little girl will inherit someday from the insights and memories recorded. This is a great reminder of how the "little" things you do to curate a photo library add... Continue reading

The Harvest
I love Autumn. The kids go back to school, the air becomes crisp and cool and there's just something about getting into the groove of a new schedule I dig. With things slowing down a bit after the wrap up of this class, I've taken the time to slow down and catch up on a few home projects. Las...
