Hey, you, old friend, I'm not posting much these days, not even writing so much, but always thinking I need to get back to it. Interesting things are happening, so I just may break the famine. Thanks for your comment that got me to log in here; I am always glad to hear from people. Cheers, vl

I wasn't very clear, the 2.7 GB consisted of all the Boohoo stuff and all the uploads from my personal CD collection (20 or so CDs). I have edited the post to better reflect the situation. The 30 Boohoo songs was nothing. Someone directed me to isohunt. Interesting.

Now that you mention it, I have a vague memory of someone telling me she was driving cab, but other than one awkward chance meeting in Kerrisdale, I have no firsthand knowledge of her post high school. Yeah, the murders of A & B were quite upsetting. Everyone was upset about it, even those of us who barely knew them. It just didn't make any sense. After first grade I went to the big T*******, where I stayed until they reopened T******* Annex A primary school as W******* elementary school. I transferred to W******* because my family moved to the neighbourhood. Crazy Kathy, eh? Well, I don't think she was that much crazier than the rest of us, just way less inhibited. She wasn't completely self-destructive though, after all she did leave the dealer's house when the heroin came out. Some people wouldn't have. Did you ever meet Byron? I met him through her, and then Jan through him.

Fear not. It was home grown salad, so all I have to do is be more careful when washing. I'll probably eat more salad today.

Well said. I didn't even think of it : ) Perhaps envious is not the right word, perhaps I should say that I admire these people their boldness. Though that said, I would have to say that for me envy is one of four or so most important deadly sins.

Yah, I know I'm the only one, but that doesn't mean I can't whine about my role. From time to time I think about selling, but I'm not ready. Susana, la bruja at work, says that in five years I am going to sell and buy a condo. Hmm. Maybe I'll have done all the work by then, and the neighbourhood will be gentrified and I'll be able to sell for more than the price of an apartment I could stand to live in. Though I would like to keep it until I die, if I'm able.

This has been a thoroughly enjoyable trip, and it isn't over yet - there's still the train ride home to enjoy. SD has been great, LA was great, and you guys were more fun than a barrel of monkeys. So thanks for everything, and see you,xov

This is a take-off on the quote about death and taxes; I'm not talking so much about the act of sex as about the idea of sex, which is inevitable for most people. I guess it wasn't a successful idea bubble.

I didn't know you were in a monastery. Did they give a reason? Plane to LA, train to San Diego, train, back to LA, train home from LA. Dinner would be good. I have an exam on Thursday night, so maybe Friday (the 27th).

You know there was another reference: the day I got the 70s music disc George, on the Hour was talking about BCR and Saturday Night. Everything comes in threes.
They were even better in vivo. I want some. Call when you get back and we'll get together. We could go to Zakkushi. I'll have asparagus and bacon skewers, and you can have chicken and weird cheese skewers. Not to mention Pooh's Mid-afternoon Snack.

I was there after dark, and they only showed me the inside of the house, really only the living room. Your mother and J were impressed that the fish didn't hide when I was watching them. The aquariums were beautiful. If I'd known there were aviaries in the yard, I'd have gone outside. When I was in Venezuela, I saw a flight cage with two tiny monkeys, about the size of beanie babies, in it. I loved them.

You don't think it's ignoble to have such a base reason to write? I suppose a muse is what a muse is. Creativity contains its own nobility and it's best to take the inspiration where and as it is.

Your hair story reminded me of Michael, a guy I used to hang with. Michael had bleached blond hair. One day Michael, tired of his blonde hair, put henna over the bleached blonde. Michael's hair turned the shimmery dark green colour of a duck's head, so he tried to bleach it out and it turned the blue of an SOS pad (and close to that texture). Then it broke off. Michael was pretty unhappy. Sorry things aren't going so well for you.
