The sheep "jail" setup makes me think that they've dealt with very stroppy sheep once or twice before! Was thi escape one of the times that a person, preferably wit a dog, was requested by the man with a microphone?
Cunningsburgh (Shetland) show, part 2 - sheep
It was easy to spend most of my time around the sheep area at the Cunningsburgh show. There was a lot going on. Initially sheep were arriving and getting settled into their pens, although by the time I got there at 8:45 most were in place. This is a not-quite-complete view of the sheep section. ...
I love the cupcakes! (Or are they fairy cakes there?) Excellent use of the cake shape with the design! Not sure I'd want to *eat* them--they're awfully cute, and I don't think black icing would taste very good. :)
Very nice dogs, too! And the wellies are excellent!
Cunningsburgh (Shetland) show, part 1 - overview
I’ll be ever-grateful to Elizabeth Johnston for the heads-up (before I’d booked my travel to Shetland) that the Cunningsburgh show would be happening on August 13. I was able to arrive in time to see the show in its entirety, instead of arriving two days late. I had to sacrifice an open spinning...
I think I'd likely agree about the drink being better at room temperature!
Also, clearly the humans are wrong about where that cat lives.
Aberdeen to Shetland
I came into Aberdeen on the train from Cumbria. It’s a big station, and a friend had helped me with how to get from train to ferry, and the internet and the same friend helped me figure out that I’d better eat at the shopping mall adjacent to the train station, because there’s nothing at the f...
That's a really nice bus shelter! And there's *sun*!
The Unst bus shelter
The chronology of posts for this trip is interrupted now for a glimpse of yesterday's journey to Yell and Unst, the northernmost islands in the Shetland group. Thanks to Jeni Reid for the photo of me knitting in the Unst bus shelter. The shelter has been decorated this time in honor of the No...
I'm pretty sure the "skateboard" doesn't have wheels because it's a snowboard. *g*
Waltz for the Wolves
Last Saturday night was the Waltz for the Wolves, the annual major fundraiser for W.O.L.F. Sanctuary, a rescue and education organization working with wolves and wolf-dogs, which recently has been hit by the High Park Fire, although all the wolves were—over a number of days and by a number of me...
Thank you for all the pictures! And for not taking any when you were driving. :)
Also, your TARDIS comment made me very, very happy; I'm rubbing off on you!
Seattle downtown on a Sunday, not where I planned to be
This is a total digression. I have more wool posts, but on a Skype call with my daughter last night I mentioned the drive I took yesterday from SeaTac through Seattle, and she wants to see photos. I flew in (my mother's ill), arriving an hour late because our plane was delayed to permit people c...
