I am so proud of Camden. He basically put this whole set together all by himself. He worked so hard on it all day and finished it. He said that his goal was to put it all together in one day and he met that goal. This is the biggest set he has ever put together and the fact that he did it just proves that he is growing up. Well, the boys woke up at 4:45 but we made them stay in their room till 6:30. I know, cruel right? But 4:45 is a tad on the early side when we have a lot to accomplish this day. We went to mom and dads house for Christmas eve day. It was kind of a play it by ear thing knowing that Kacy could go into labor at any minute but we were able to enjoy some time visiting family and friends. It was us, mom and dad, Kalie, Nate, Suree, Papa, Sue and Patty Ballard. Such a nice and relaxing time. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and ofcourse the view from their deck is stunning. We got the furry babies all dressed up for the holidays. The kids have been dying to decorate their gingerbread houses this year. I think next year we will try making one from scratch. Well, since we still have not heard from our rental company about getting the fence fixed, our neighbor took matters into his own hands and started fixing the fence this last sunday. Dave saw him out there and him and the boys went out to help. Considering we have kids and dogs and have been complaining about the fence since the day we moved in, it seems like they would want to fix it but apparantly not. This last week, Cam has been complaining that his heart hurt. He said it felt like a side ache in his heart. And on monday, I actually watched him double over drawing in a deep breath and lots of pain on his face. Well, I thought maybe it was something he ate. Then it happened again and again over the next several days. Today (December 6th), we celebrated something very special. I cannot believe its been two years. Two years ago Dave and I were sitting on the couch with them as they were eagerly asking questions about asking Jesus into their hearts. I have heard from their VBS teachers that they might have accepted Christ but they wanted to do it again-to make sure. I remember doing the same exact thing as a kid. For advent today, we talked about the promise God made to his people, the Rainbow. So I had made rainbow jello the night before. This morning (December 1st), after waiting almost 20 years, I got Lasik. It was so cool. The boys and Dave got to actually watch and take some pics. I was a little nervous so they gave me a valium (yeah!!!). It actually did not hurt but when they put the device down to cut the flap on the eyeball, it felt like they were squeezing my eyeball (tons of pressure). SO worth it. So we get home from my lasik procedure and the wind is blowing like crazy. We have been bugging the management group from when we moved that the fence needed to be fixed. I am just so thankful the boys weren't outside when it happened or the dogs werent outside cause they would have freaked out and taken off. Considering my eyes were covered from the procedure, I would not have been able to chase them. Holding up with tradition, we got our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. But we did not go to Cobb Ranch. We tried last year but it was very different. They do not even grow thewir own trees anymore and there were a ton of weird to do's out there. Way too commercial so we skipped it and ended up getting a pretty good tree for a great price at OSH. So we have been watching Sand Masters-which by the way the boys absolutely love. I think our favorite episode was when they went to Legoland and made a Star Wars sculpture. So they decided to try it themselves. I think they think it is summer time instead of winter time where the high was 54 today. The boys had their first choir concert November 17th. It was absolutely adorable. They both looked stunning. Such gentlemen. Camden wanted to make pancakes this morning all by himself-and he almost did. He knows all the ingrediants that go into making them and he even knows some of the measurements. He basically made these 95% all by himself. I love that he wants to learn how to cook or clean or do things around the house. The other day he made lunch for him and brother (PB & J sandwiches, crackers, applesauce and a cookie). He tries so hard and he doesnt give up. I had won tickets to the Spooktacular halloween celebration at Storyland so after our fun time at Playland the boys changed into their costumes and we headed over. Very thankful I did not buy the tickets-we were inline for over 45 minutes adn then when we got inside it was incredibly crowded-lines to everything. The boys did enjoy getting candy but we ended up not staying too long-just was not worth it. Since it was Cam's birthday dinner, he requested we go to Chili's-he wanted ribs in a bad way. I cannot believe my youngest is 8 years old already. Happy birthday my lil Peanut!!! It seems like just yesterday I was changing diapers and making bottles.
