Sorry I forgot to mention. I copied this whole blog over to my Palumbus site, which is my not-so-great-name-in-hindsight company name now that I've gone freelance. And there's some new content too! And all my work! In once place! That... Continue reading

I've been thinking about this a lot recently. It seems like the stars are aligning so that pretty soon we actually could do some quite interesting stuff in the gaps between all these different interfaces, but no one's quite figured out what yet. The car part is fascinating. For example, how will my attitude towards cars and mobility change when I plug mine in every night and it can run citymapper? Could I be encouraged to change my energy usage across the board if I see my entire footprint in one place? I started putting getting some sketches done of a few scenarios but I think it needs a lot more discussion and thought. I'd be interested to know what you think?
I used one of the fantastic days over the Easter weekend to visit New Ash Green, the 'latter 20th century village in Kent' designed by Eric Lyons for Span, a postwar housing developer. Simultaneously tucked away in the Kent countryside... Continue reading

There’s lots of positive stuff going on in the world of cars right now. For example, I was privileged to watch the incredible BMW team at Dare get lively around the launch of the new i3, a completely new electric... Continue reading

I wasn’t massively involved in the production or design stages, but the pitch work I did for the Cancer Research Race For Life App was hopefully a part of winning the project, and lots of the IA seems to have made it through a bit. Continue reading

This little lady, named Mewriel, has been with us for just over three months now, and she's totally bonkers. I love her to bits. It's amazing how our focus has changed since we got her - I'd say she'd made... Continue reading

I revisited the BA Graphic Communications course today as a former student, to talk to the current 3rd year class about what I've been up to since graduating. I did the usual rushed ramble through a bunch of projects, but... Continue reading

So it turns out that about 15 months ago I gave myself a little ultimatum on this blog; start publishing more often, or shut it down after 6 months. As well as all the amazingly positive things that being at... Continue reading

I've been spotting a few of these recently. I'm not doubting their effectiveness, I used to put posters out in the same way for a club night in Cardiff. They're more disruptive than you might initially think. I guess that's... Continue reading

Photographer Leo Caillard, featured in Feature Shoot: This series asks the question “What is the importance of clothing in our modern society?” How you dress is who you are. When you dress statues, suddenly no longer are they simply reclining... Continue reading

Don't let anyone tell you that Welsh isn't a beautiful language. I've just recently come across Georgia Ruth, who has a new album out. It's one of the reasons to regret not still living in Cardiff, that I hopefully would... Continue reading

They were made by but it was a few years ago, not sure if they're still doing them. Good luck!

Just wanted to share this amazing performance: There are lots of other brilliant videos by watchlistentell on the youtube, not all of which have distinct similarities to the Burberry Acoustic series which I also loved. Continue reading

I'm doing a lot of train travelling at the moment; trips back to Wales and working with on site at a client's business park. I keep being reminded of this aweome music video for Chemical Brothers by Michel Gondry: Continue reading

I was loaned a copy of Apartamento last week - it's an interesting read; it juxtaposes people's fascinating living spaces alongside in-depth interviews about significant parts of their lives. It's all done with a kind of art/fashion/new-bourgeoisie lens and on... Continue reading

I was up in the Manchester area over Christmas, which offered the opportunity to check out The First Cut, an exhibition of art works crafted in paper at The Manchester Gallery. There's a lot of beautiful stuff shown in the... Continue reading

A lot of community-led projects I hear people talk about, locally or nationally, seem to be based around complex tech platforms and structures. Regardless of how awesome they will be one day, they spend ages in some sort of 'coming... Continue reading

One of the things pinterest is obviously great for is collecting inspiration by category - it's enabled me to be much more selective in the kinds of clothes I buy, through my board Without looking foolish, and I've also started... Continue reading

This looks interesting for the end of the month - a group of illustrators and designers responding to nature in the context of the London environment. And it's a beautiful poster. There's more information about the show and the contributors... Continue reading

A nice mid-week gig outing to the Islington Assembly Hall, dancing to a bit of Afrobeat. A great support band, the Ariya Astrobeat Arkestra, did a perfect job as a support act - they were exciting enough to warm the... Continue reading
