Just as a heads up, we're moving to a new server today. Same address, same blog, same everything. In *theory* this should be transparent to you and if you subscribe via RSS or email, then all *should* be transparent to you. In theory. In the event of any trouble, just go direct to www.celiacbites.com in a day or so and re-subscribe. Thanks for your patience! Continue reading

Thanks! Glad to bring a smile (hopefully)
Are YOU lying to ME?
I only wish I was smart enough to have used this dying, I mean dining out technique before. But I'm not. I stumbled onto it purely by accident with the help of one very skeptical Dairy Queen employee. My family and I were driving home from one of Tennessee's largest cities - The Gaylord Opryland...
Funny you should mention UDI's! We just found it at out grocery store last week and I tried a loaf of bread and their bagels. Both are awesome! Nice sourdough taste to the regular bread and great texture and flavor for the bagels. Really good stuff!
What's for breakfast? Glutino English Muffins
Glutino English Muffins are one of my long term favorites. I always have some in the freezer. The only thing about them is that they don't really taste like English Muffins much at all. This brings up a great point, one probably worth an entire post, but I'll touch on it here. When I am eat...

Top 10 reasons I want to be on Top Shot
I want to prove to all the pantywaists that armed people can in fact have disagreements without gunfire breaking out. Then again, not many pantywaists watch the History Channel... I'm not mentioning any names, Adam, but I can make a... Continue reading

Pocket knives of mass destruction?
Unfortunately, some things require no witty commentary at all. According to KnifeRights.org, "the New York County (Manhattan) District Attorney's Office appears to be engaged in a shakedown of local businesses, forcing them to pay six-figure, so-called 'contributions' or risk unwarranted... Maybe the strategy is to gluten you so badly with the medication that you forget about your strep throat! Hola! You're cured!
Why Pop Tarts are better than Zithromax
Why do I have to worry about medications killing me? Call me crazy, but nowadays simple things like, oh say Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Pop Tarts have strict ingredient labeling guidelines. Before you make a major life decision like eating a Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Pop Tart, you can simply read ...
Yumm! Let me know and maybe we can post something here!
On the Senseo issue, a fellow sufferer just posted a link to new and improved Senseo pod filters. I have not tried them yet but intend to shortly - you may want to check it out - see the last comment at: http://www.celiacbites.com/2009/03/the-case-of-the-walking-glutonia.html
Congratulations! You’ve got Celiac! Now what?
I have fallen into the time sucking addiction known as Twitter (find me at twitter.com/celiacbites) and every day I run across someone who has just been diagnosed with Celiac. Most are just as confused and lost as I once was, wondering if they will ever be able to survive without Brown Sugar and...
Thanks for the great tip and link! I tried some all plastic contraption a while back that did not work at all. This appears to me more like a "real" filter and I am anxious to try one! I have to admit the Senseo is pretty handy for that random cup of coffee sometimes :-)
The case of the walking glutonia
Just because I'm paranoid doesn’t mean that Senseo coffee pods are not out to get me. In fact, I've been having recurring nightmares about them. In my dreams, they have mobilized like those "scrubbing bubbles" on T.V. and they are chasing me through an abandoned and really creepy summer camp. I...
Thanks! Just remember that generic drugs are manufactured by about 612 different companies around the world and that pharmacies tend to change suppliers without notice!
On the plus side, I have found almost every time I check that drug manufacturers are pretty good (from my perspective anyway) about not using wheat based starches. Most of the ones that I have called use corn based fillers.
Good luck out there!

Dann I couldn't agree more! I myself have a Single Six in .22LR and it's the first one I take out to teach a new shooter, adult or junior! Since I posted this, she is now all worked up about an FN 5-7 though... (She's plenty experienced)
I like the price tag of the Bearcat a lot better :-)
Should I ground her or take her shopping?
So the other night, I knocked on my daughters door and walked in. Instead of doing her homework, she was surfing the internet. Hmmm. Bad. I caught her looking at this: I am not sure whether to ground her or buy her one.
