The armed jihad warship flotilla's mission was to break the arms blockade to jihadists in Gaza. It was an act of war. It was designed to be a huge huge public relations diaster for Israel. And it was. The Jihad Flotillas: Melding Propaganda with Violence, Pamela Geller, Breitbart: "it joined propaganda together with violence, usually conducted separately, to wage war." Some of the weapons found on the Mavi Maramara On May 31st, 2010, a flotilla of ships organized by the Free Gaza Movement and the Turkish IHH group attempted to break Israel’s naval blockade of the Gaza Strip. Five of the ships were commandeered peacefully by the Israeli Navy and re-routed to Ashdod. The supplies they carried were delivered overland to Gaza after a security inspection. (source: IP) As Israeli naval commandos abseiled onto the deck of the fourth and largest ship, the Mavi Marmara, they were attacked by IHH activists armed with knives, clubs and at least two pistols. Three of the commandos were badly wounded and dragged below deck. Others were injured as they were thrown from the upper deck into the sea. The Israeli commandos had been ordered to take the ship without using lethal force and were issued primarily with stun guns. In response to the violence that greeted them and fearing for their lives, the commandos were ordered to open fire. In the ensuing melee, nine IHH activists were killed. The Turkel Committee, an independent public inquiry with international observers established by the Israeli government to examine events aboard the Mavi Marmara in May 2010, found that the Israeli Navy acted in accordance with international law and had little choice but to react as they did when faced with the violent resistance of the IHH activists on board. “Each Israeli soldier was attacked as they entered the ship,” Turkel said. Three of the soldiers were dragged into the ship’s hold and were prevented from receiving “humanitarian” medical attention. "Now, more than ever, we have concerns about terrorist activity in that country," Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, told FoxNews.com. "Now the administration wants to normalize -- that's just not acceptable." Chaffetz and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., first drew attention to the draft document, which is circulating inside DHS and is not yet final. It comes a little more than a year after the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi in which four Americans were killed. The suspects still have not been brought to justice, and Fox News has reported over the past week how several Al Qaeda-tied individuals are linked to the attack. U.S. forces just this month captured terrorist Abu Anas al-Libi, wanted in connection with the 1998 U.S. Embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania, in Tripoli. "It is shocking that the Obama administration is turning a blind eye to real terrorist threats that exist in Libya today," Goodlatte said in a written statement. A 14-year-old boy saved himself by jumping off the mall's roof, after learning from friends inside that they were quizzed on names of the Prophet Muhammad's relatives. A Jewish man scribbled a Quranic scripture on his hand to memorize, after hearing the terrorists were asking captives to recite specific verses. Numerous survivors described how the attackers from al-Shabab, a Somali cell which recently joined al-Qaeda, shot people who failed to provide the correct answers. Their chilling accounts, combined with internal al-Shabab documents discovered earlier this year by The Associated Press, mark the final notch in a transformation within the global terror network, which began to rethink its approach after its setbacks in Iraq. The terror-linked Muslim Brotherhood group CAIR is doing incalculable damage to this country, and presents a very real and dangerous national security risk. CAIR objects to the description of al-Shabaab as an "Islamic extremist terrorism." In 2011, former Ramsey County sheriff Bob Fletcher organized an educational seminar on Somalia addressing these very issues. The seminar, called "Understanding the People of Somalia," provided training on al-Shabaab. But Hamas-CAIR actively sought to destroy and discredit the event and its organizers. CAIR sent letters to law enforcement agencies throughout the state who might be sending people to the seminar warning that the attendees "will receive inaccurate and biased information about Muslims and Somalis" -- that according to A. Lori Saroya, president of the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN). Hamas-CAIR attacked the Muslim speakers at the event. All of the speakers were Somali Muslims. The message said two speakers at the seminar -- Omar Jamal, former executive director of the Somali Justice Advocacy Center, and Abdirizak Bihi, director of the Somali Education and Social Advocacy Center -- were "unrepresentative of their community and unqualified to speak on the topics outlined in the upcoming presentation." Jamal was the Somali representative to the United Nations. Abdirizak Bihi's nephew, Burhan Hassan, went missing from Minneapolis. He had joined the jihad in Somalia and was shot and killed.
